BEWARE: Not real silk
This is definitely not real silk. It’s polyester in a satin weave. Not soft.

Tested - Not actual silk
I saw a number of reviews to the effect of "these aren't silk, they're satin" and there's a fundamental misunderstanding happening there: satin isn't a material, it's a weaving method. Silk, or polyester, or rayon, or acetate, or any number of other materials can be constructed into a satin material. So I decided to buy one and put it to an actual fiber test that I've seen recommended in various sewing and knitting books to determine the fiber content of a mystery material. I extracted a few strands from the fabric and lit them on fire. As you can see in the photo, the fibers shriveled in the heat and melted into a plastic-y bead, a sure sign that there are 100% synthetic. Real silk would have consumed like kindling and left ash behind.By all means, use these pillowcases if they make you happy, but they are by no means made of silk or any other natural fiber.

Surpirsed and pleased.
I didn't realize this was for only one pillowcase, but glad I bought it. Bonus: extremely nice packaging and it came with two red embroidered bracelets with a metal heard engraved with the word "love"! ! I am the one who needs/wants a silk pillowcase, not my husband. so this is perfect for me. I bought some cheaper ones with 2 pillowcases, and altho I did get 2, for the price of this one, the QUALITY of this one surpasses the quality of the 2. I am going to buy more of these because it's my face and my curly hair and dammit, I'm worth it!!

Purple is GORGEOUS!
I ordered two purple queen size. The color is different from the first picture, but the other pictures are a bit better. It’s more of a magenta than a purple. The color is so rich and so beautiful. I have some polyester satin pillowcases and they are actually softer. But don’t mistake me, these are plenty soft, it’s easy to be cheap and soft if using polyester, real silk, you get what you pay for. They lost some sheen in the first wash, this happens to silk, polyester stays exactly the same. I read that vinegar can put sheen back in. These pillowcases are not top of the line or top price. They are silk and they are lovely but if you’re looking for ultra soft, you’ll have to pay much more or just go with “satin” polyester. I’m happy with the purchase.

Not Silk
The first flag was the strong smell of perfume. It had a polyester feel. When I washed one pillowcase, it did not wrinkle at all, even though it was line dried.
