Not cheap but neither is the alternative
Only toothbrush I will ever use after having used it once. Leaves a fresh feeling in your mouth after using it. Has some feedback on it, it will buzz if you're pressing down too hard, and even comes with an app if you really want to be on top of your teeth cleaning. Multiple modes on the brush and multiple options for replacement heads. Sleek carrying case as well for travel, tends to last a good week before needing to be recharged. Charges in a clear cup but the downside you can't easily take it with you and the cup tends to get dirty over time. Minor inconvenience for a good result.

Horrible!!
I'm going to repost Kit Y's review since it mirrors my own experience. Three of these toothbrushes in three years and all have gone bad after one year. I won't buy another Sonicare product again! This unit is amazing, while it actually functions. This is the third diamond care unit I have personally owned, and also the third unit to cease functioning (each unit only lasting a year or less). The first unit's metal shaft (where the toothbrush head attaches) became loose and started making a loud buzzing sound, which progressively got worse until the brush no longer pulsated. It had never been dropped, and I had always been very careful with how I handled it. I contacted Phillips in order to receive a replacement, as the unit was still within the 2-year warranty, and was informed that I would need to return my current brush to them before they would ship out a replacement. I purchased a cheap battery operated toothbrush to use in the meantime and received a replacement diamond care in about 1.5 weeks. The replacement arrived and functioned for about a year. Once again, the exact same problem happened. Mind you, this time I was even more careful with with the brush. At this point, I was incredibly annoyed by the quality of this product. I'm not one of those people that expect to purchase a device and expect it to last forever, but at around $170, I DO expect it to last for longer than a year.Around this time, I noticed that Phillips released a newer version of the brush with smart features and presumed that perhaps they worked out some of the bugs. Apprehensively, I opted to purchase this new model rather than go through Phillips for another replacement of the same apparent dud.I purchased this smart edition (9300 series) on January 31, 2018. Today it is August 15, 2018 and I already began having the exact same issue with this unit about a week ago. Once again, I contacted Phillips to have it replaced and was told that I would need to send the unit in prior to receiving a replacement.I will use this replacement, whenever I actually receive it, until it inevitably ceases to function, but I will never purchase another product from Phillips. Between the terrible quality of their products, and the fact that they make you send in the malfunctioning devices prior to receiving replacement, it is very frustrating. These units still function as ordinary toothbrushes when they aren't turned on. I shouldn't have to go out and purchase a replacement brush while waiting on a replacement, especially after having spent almost $400 in less than 3 years' time. Unbelievab

Love this brand. I bought this one for my mom however I also have one. I have used this brand for 10+ years and love the results. Very easy to use and has helped keep my teeth white and cavity free.

better then a manual toothbrush
I've been brushing my teeth the old fashioned way since I was a kid. Being a huge coffee drinker though and not going to the dentist frequently enough has unfortunately given me the classic coffee teeth. I decided to improve my dental health for the new year and got this electric toothbrush. The Idea of using a electric toothbrush is still new to me but I can't argue the results which is quite impressive so far after two brushings. The toothbrush itself is so far so good but my frustration lies in the app itself which *constantly* disconnects and more often then not I just brush my teeth without the connectivity. Outside of the app the brush itself is so far so good, we will see how long this lasts. The reviews here had me worried but Amazon has always been good to me with returns so I feel confident if I get a lemon they'll take care of me. Other then that I really love the feeling this gives you, I feel like my teeth just got professionally cleaned at the dentist, I love it so far.

Philips Sonicare DiamondClean
Love it. The lithium batter is the thing. I've had numerous Sonicare electric tooth brushes over the years -- at least 10 (in recent years, I have just bought replacement handles for $50 on Ebay - not anymore). The batteries always wear out in a couple of years or less -- a real bummer. I'm hoping this one is different with the lithium battery. I charge it about once every 3-4 days although I've heard people say they can get 2 weeks out of a charge. I doubt that if you are brushing correctly (about 2.5 minutes) twice a day! Anyway, it is strong and consistent. Forget about all the settings and fancy stuff. The app is ridiculous, but they have to justify the $200 price tag, I guess. I do like it when you brush too hard and the bottom lights up -- that's cool. It is also a little slippery to hold - a little rubber on the handle might keep someone from dropping it. I have the white since I understand the black brushes are hard to find -- I don't know. Anyway, I like the white. It is a great electric toothbrush -- just hope it lasts for at least 5 years or more.
