Beautiful
Gorgeous Bible, great size, very readable. The gold gilding was a little rubbed off on mine right out of the box but it doesn’t really bother me. It’s nice to have an ESV Catholic Edition because I was already familiar with the translation before I started learning more about the Catholic faith. This is my favorite readers Bible now.

Beautiful—Great job Cambridge!!!
Overall great readers edition—the clearest print I’ve seen for the ESV. We’ll planned aesthetically pleasing page layout, with adequate spacing on all sides for enjoyable reading (not crammed or covered with cross references). The Italian paper is nice (no ghosting) and print clear and black throughout. I also love the leather, great grain and texture, soft but not too thin with great smell. Lays flat when opened (reminds me of an RL Allan Binding). Great edition overall for reading and even fits in hand and carries nicely! Given the superb font and print, Cambridge should consider a smaller compact version?

Needs better QC
First off, a bit about this Bible. I ordered the Black calfskin version. It comes in a double column format, words of Christ are in black, and there's a table of weights and measures as well as 11 moderately detailed black and white maps. There are two gold ribbon markers, and the pages are gilded. The cover is supple and well textured, attached via paste down, and has a sewn binding. It's not quite a thinline, but still thinner than most catholic bibles. I appreciate the form factor. Overall, this feels like a very quality bible. There is moderate show through from page to page, but I don't find it problematic. The text block is fairly dense, and the headers can be less descriptive than I'd like. My big problem with this bible is print non uniformity. 4 or 5 times in the first 100 pages, one of the pages is completely washed out. After that, I couldn't find any pages with noticeably lighter print, but these ones are nearly unreadable. I've included photos, but they don't really do justice to just how light the text is in person. In both photos the left page is the one with the lighter text. For the $130 I paid, it's pretty disappointing. I hope that this is just an issue with early printings and will be remedied in the future.

Poor customer service from Cambridge
Received this Bible In January of the year. The binding is coming apart after only five months.Called Cambridge about the problem and was told they do not back this product because I did not buy it from them.It was surprising that a company that sells Bibles does not back them . So be cautious when you buy a Cambridge Bible.

Great Presentation of a Great Catholic Translation
I have many different translation versions in my Bible Collection. I really like the English Standard Version Catholic Edition for its readability and translation choices (I love that it reads ‘And I shall dwell in the house of the Lord Forever’ for Psalm 23). The Cambridge Cornerstone Edition of this translation is the Cadillac of Catholic Bibles. I mean it is high quality. I didn’t realize that real leather would feel so good, but it does. If you are looking for an ESV-CE bible that will last and is a pleasure to read, then the Cambridge Cornerstone is the Bible to get.

Dissapointed
This Bible is disappointing, especially for the price. The pages in the book have a "crunchy" sound and feeling to them, similar to the sound of wet paper when it's dried and is then crumpled. The gilding also has a dirty look to it, not uniform. The words on the binding are already seeming to have worn off despite it having just arrived.

It's a magnificent "reader" Bible, but not a study or reference Bible
Yes, it's basically a simple and modern text-block (SPCK) with a great cover. It doesn't have any concordance, references, or citation of OT passages quoted in the NT. But, if you're looking for a high-quality readers' Bible in the ESV-CE, this is a great choice. The recently-published Schuyler ESV with Deuterocanonical/Apocrypha has some major printing errors in terms of text uniformity, so this Cambridge is currently the best option for a ESV with the Deuterocanonical books, unless you're ok with the smaller font size of the ESV Diadem (also from Cambridge, and of much higher quality than the Cornerstone.)4.2/5
