Jennifer Hillier is like Lays Potato Chips
Jennifer Hillier is like Lays Potato Chips. You can't read just one. The minute I read the first book by JH, I knew that I had to read every single book she's ever written (which I rarely ever do with any author). I went on Amazon and purchased every book she's ever written. I can't wait until she writes another one. One of the best thriller genre writers out there, hands down. Creepy, addictive, delicious. Buy this and all the others. You won't regret it. Read them and then pass them on to a friend.

It's..creepy.
“Did you kill her?”“Ha. Right. I was just a kid when she died.”There was a minimum age requirement for monsters?”― Jennifer Hillier, CreepCreep was an interesting read. Unlike with many of these types of books we know who the stalker is early on. And boy oh boy is he a ...creep.Sheila is our main character and she has a problem. She is newly engaged but had a brief affair with our stalker. Now she wants to break it off only stalker guy is not so sure about that. This was an OK read. I neither loved it nor disliked it. I liked Sheila and felt for her and had the usual feelings of revulsion toward Stalker guy. But I have read many a book like this and while I found Creep mildly interesting, I didn't love it.The strength of the book was in creating some really fun characters. I adored Sheila's fiancee who really turns out to be a decent guy. Sheila herself is amazingly gutsy for all she goes through. There is a twist which is done very well and I'll tell you..if you are seeking a quick read in the stalker genre you just may like this. It sure does have its gripping moments. However I also did not know this was a series. (Sigh). This seems to be happening to me alot lately. The ending is a cliff hanger which is not a spoiler because all series end on that note. I may gt on to the next one and I may not.In terms of this book, I can see the appeal and it really has some very creepy moments. Three stars from me.

It was OK
This blurb for this book sounded intriguing, so I decided to give it a read. Dr. Sheila Tao is a psychology professor at a college in Seattle. She has been having a short affair with one of her teaching assistants, but when the man she’s been dating and is actually in love with, Morris, asks her to marry him, she breaks things off with Ethan, her TA. Ethan doesn’t take it very well. He’s a creep and things go south for Sheila pretty quickly. I liked some of the characters, especially Morris and Jerry, the private investigator Morris hires. And I liked most of the story. It certainly kept me turning the pages. However, there were things I was uncomfortable with and things that didn’t seem to make sense to me. One – Sheila had some serious issues to work out, but she was a psychology professor who couldn’t figure out that the young man she was having sex with had some really serious psychological issues of his own? Two – I believe that if Hillier had left out the smelly homeless man who talked to Morris and Jerry while they were on stakeout, the ending of the story would have had much more impact. Three – I found it too convenient that the PI, Jerry, had taken a psychology course years ago with Sheila and was also married to someone who was a friend of Sheila’s and knew her quite well. If you like thrillers, you may like this one. I liked it, if only that it certainly took me outside my box. The characters were fine and the writing was fine, but didn’t really motivate me to want to read the sequel, Freak.

A must read if you like psychological thrillers
I’ve read some entertaining books lately, but it’s been a while since I read one that I didn’t want to put down. Creep is that book. It’s that good. The opening scene and the writing style drew me in and I was hooked. First off, I love psychological thrillers with twisted characters and Creep has its share. Part way through I guessed the ending, but I was still interested in how the author would get there. There was no repetition or filler, just good writing and interesting characters. Freak is next on my list.

But I'm a CREEP . . . .
I don't even know where to start with this.Sheila is a pretty prominent professor at a university in Puget Sound who is having a torrid affair with her teaching assistant, Ethan. Ethan is the typical hot guy you read about in a lot of books. He's handsome, has a great body, he's amazing in bed, and Sheila can't get enough, however Sheila has a boyfriend, who's now become her fiance', big time banker, Morris, so it's time to cut things off with Ethan. This is when Ethan becomes something else all together and the title comes into play, which doesn't even begin to cover it.This is about all I can say without totally spoiling it but this book is WELL worth the read. It's dark, sinister, and all around, well, creepy.

Average
Eh, all in all a deeply average read. It wasn't bad, but there was little to stand out in the writing, characters or narrative. I wouldn't have necessarily seen the twist coming but it wasn't well handled and so rather than tempting or teasing you into the realisation there are blunt force hints of a hammering proportion. If you are looking for a light, somewhat creepy but fairly average stalk/abduction tale this may be up your street but don't expect to be wowed.

Didn't work for me.....
This book came to me fairly highly recommended so I thought I'd give it a go.This book did nothing for me. It read like an amateurish, badly written psychological drama without much drama. It was almost as if the author had done a writing course and felt the need to tick the boxes of what might be expected. There was no atmosphere, it was cliched, the plot implausible in parts, the characters were flat. I honestly didn't care what happened to Sheila. No real fleshing out of Wolfe's backstory and what there was has been done a zillion times before, again predictable. I felt like the Criminal Minds team could have resolved this in a few hours! And as for the cellophane wrapped space and nail polish - Dexter has been there, done that and worn the 't' shirt!! Totally unoriginal! I sped read huge swathes of it just to get to the end, of which I saw coming a mile away!! I've been reading crime fiction for over 20 years so maybe I've become fairly adept at seeing things, but for me this was just not good. Merely ok. An easy read that passes a few hours, if that's what you want. I wouldn't recommend.

Creep
It took me a while to get into this story and there were times I wanted to give up. However I carried on reading and was glad I didStrange story and not altogether sure I really liked any of the charactersSheila irritated me as a woman I her role how could she be so naive. One example leaves her drink unattended with a stranger while she visits the bathroom.Silly woman! Not entirely sure I want to read Freak the sequel

Strong debut
This was a decent read. It was a little slow going at the start but once it did start picking up you fly through it. Dr Tao is a college lecturer who is having an affair with her TA and when she ends it be threatens to ruin her life. She then learns he is a psychopath and she has to fight for her survival
