Eye-opening and Inspiring Read
This was the first book I read on my sober journey after 10+ years of participating in drinking culture and almost 4 years of being an alcoholic. It was easy to digest and I was able to finish the whole book in one day. Though, I was already dedicated to this sober journey, this book motivated me even more and made me excited to the possibilities of a sober life. I really resonated with Sean’s personal story and saw a lot of similarities with my own life. I’m inspired to keep going and recommend this book to anyone who’s ready to embark on an alcohol-free lifestyle.

Great book to get and stay sober
Love this book! Very encouraging and easy to read. It helps me look forward to being sober. I will be starting book 2 of the series now. Thanks Sean for helping me get and stay sober and live a more happy and spiritual life.

Great read if looking to live sober or newly sober!
This was filled with so much good information. I gave up alcohol 7 months ago and this book helped me put a new perspective to my new life. It also provided a lot of data that I didn’t realize.

I Relate To So Much
I am at a very, very similar crossroad that’s this author apparently was in when they decided to get sober. Sean, thank you so much for being so forward and honest. One thing that I liked about this book and that the author did not tip toe around most of what he felt was true and right. Sometimes we are so afraid of offending, or narrowing our thoughts to others that we don’t say what our true experience was and I have seen this in a lot of quit lit I have been reading lately. For example the author continuously said over and over that sobriety leads to a greater life experience, even though he also admitted to having friends who still drink. That’s is what proved to me that what I read was this authors legitimate no holding back to save your feelings truths, and experiences about his life and his now long term sobriety.I can not say enough good things about this book. I have just now purchased more quit lit (some recommended in the text) because it is truly helping me so much on my sober journey and I promise if your in the same place this book will be no different for you as well. This book gets right to the point with some drunken experience examples but mostly thoughts on how to get there (sober) and stay there and all the positives that come into play when getting sober. This isn’t as much of a long tragic stories + some advice and help it’s more so the other way around. Seeing the grueling data included about all my wasted time that I can never get back and money out the window also gave me a kick in the rear to end the horrible trend and reverse it entirely. Which is all given in details in the book!Happy reading if you choose this one, in my opinion you won’t regret it!

Not that helpful
This is the telling of tales of the author's binges while drinking virtually every night....in bars, clubs and at home or a "friend's" (as in met him/her that night!) house. It's a sad tale but does end with happier vibes as the author finds sobriety. He does include lots of references to support his claims to statistical data, recommendations, etc. His strong message is to find happiness through a sober lifestyle but

Great Doorway into a Better Way of Living
Great intro to living sober. Easy and enjoyable to read. I am only 3 months into my own sobriety as I write this review. Still "riding the pink cloud" as more seasoned recovering alcoholics might say. I have read AA's Big Book 2x as well as the 12 & 12 book and am actively working the Steps. Both are must reads for those choosing the sober life. This book is as well--especially for us newbies as well as anyone thinking of cutting booze out of their life. At some point in time way down the line when I have been dry long enough to become a sponsor, I will give this book to my sponsees.
