My angle on this: I own 2 (other) cutting mats and use a few others where I volunteer.This is much more rigid than any other mat I've seen, and for me that's a big plus. It means that when I take it off my desk and stand it up, it doesn't flop over, which could lead to developing a semi-permanent curve if I left it that way for an extended period of timeIt's thicker, which might explain the rigidity. I measured my Fiskars mat (1.55mm thick) and this one (just over 3mm thick), so it's almost double the thickness. I'm neutral about this, but you might care so I figured I'd mention it.It doesn't have a hole to use to hang it up. For me that's a plus because on my mat with a hole, I have to be careful when I'm cutting near that area to work around the hole. It you want to hang this up on a hook or nail, you won't be able to do that.I bought the A2 mat with Imperial (non-metric) markings. The area with markings is 17" by 23" and in fact, the overall size of the mat is less than 18" by 24". Many other A2 mats have a full 18" by 24" working area and this does not.I've been using it for a short time and thus far I am extremely happy and would buy this brand again if I need another mat.

I have a large mat, desk sized, and smaller mats really come in handy. I can build a sub assembly and easily move it out of the way. I covered this black mat with a sheet of glass and it works excellent for cutting photo etched parts as the brass parts really stand out in contrast to the black mat. Recommended.

I use this on my leatherworking bench. It’s a nice mat with good contrasting layout marks. It ships flat so no extra work to get it unrolled and flattened out.

After attempting to buy another brand's cutting mat, I got a Prop 65 warning, as I live in California, alerting me to potentially hazardous materials. I did some consumer research and found that a fair number of mats produce off-gassing as well. It seems the two may be related. Yuck.Since I plan to hover over my mat while using it, I certainly don't want a material that could potentially put me in the way of unwanted fumes. I'm very happy to report that this large-scale cutting mat by Elan is both NONTOXIC (with no Prop 65 warning when I purchased it, yay) and has no ODOR which may bother more sensitive customers.I have used it successfully to cut fabric with a rotary cutter and it held up well.Three suggestions:Put something nonslip between it and your table/desk (I'm using a silicone sheet used in baking) to increase friction.Use a 2nd silicone mat on top of your cutting mat if you need some heat resistance (such as when using a hot glue gun).Over time, some nicks may happen on the surface, so vary the location of your cuts to extend the life of your mat.

The lines surprisingly did interfer with what I needed. I use it now for a mat under my hot glue and it works great, perfect size.

This self healing cutting Matt is fantastic! The weight and durability are such a perfect spot to have beside me for quick rotary cuts!the angle markings have already been a bonus to use! The black/grey colors make high contrast cutting a breeze!

I was looking for a cutting mat to use for some paper crafts. I wanted to buy something that would function nicely for me but not cost very much. I was pleasantly surprised when I found this one. After receiving it, I was pleased with the quality and durability of the mat. It provides a nice surface to use an X-acto knife on top of, and the grid/ruler on the mat was also helpful. This is a great choice for a cutting mat if you are looking for something that is functional and affordable.

Base de calidad. El tamaño A1 es perfecto para proteger la mesa. Es un buen producto y me encanta que tenga posibilidad de dos colores y el color topo es muy elegante y discreto. Únicamente venía con una zona con brillos en el centro, quiero pensar que por el roce con el folleto interior, me moneara un pico que no esté perfecto totalmente, pero es solo algo estético que no afecta.
