Sauder Harbor View Computer Desk with Hutch and 3-Shelf Bookcase, Salt Oak Finish

Self-assembly: Prepare yourself, this is a project. I'm a 29 y/o female and I was able to put this together myself in about 6 six hours total. I did need help when it came time to turn the unit over and lift it in place. Other than that, it can be done alone. They provide you with everything you need to assemble it and the instructions are clear. There are a ton of pieces and lots of wood so try not to be overwhelmed when you open everything up. It served me well to sort all of the pieces and label what part they were at the beginning so that I knew what to reach for in each step. I recommend everyone should do this otherwise you will lose track of which piece is what as you use them. There are 31 steps and some steps have 5 steps within them. It's not fun to put this desk together so if you can get someone else to do it for you, do it.The delivery on this item is a great feature too because you can select when you want the desk delivered down to the three hour window. The delivery service may not bring it in the house for you though. The desk comes in two heavy boxes so you will need two people to move this around.Once it's assembled, you will love the desk. Looks great against a colored wall. The makers were very smart about the construction of this. Has cutouts in back of where the monitor goes and cutouts for your cords to feed through the desk to the wall. Lots of built-in storage. I love the shelf under the keyboard tray. If you can get past the assembly stage, it's worth the money.

So I have had this desk for a couple of years. I bought it off Amazon when I first entered homeschool.When it first arrived it did come in multiple packages with all the pieces. In all it was sort of easy to assemble. I did need to get some help from some family members to lift the top piece to the bottom piece but aside from that it has been sturdy for a while.As i mentioned before, I have had this desk for quite some time. The shelves are still intact, the keyboard sliding thingy is still intact and everything after all these years. This desk is one of the sturdiest desk ever. Once assemble it remained assemble. After a couple of years, not one piece or screw has fallen off.There is ALOT of storage space in this desk. Most of the shelves on my desk are filled with stuff for decoration since i didnt know with what to fill them up with. I am able to keep most of my books in the storage space underneath my desk and in the little cabinet.In the drawers, i keep my office and school supplies that i use. I also keep some are stuff in there as well.Since ive had this desk for some while now, the paint on the main sitting area is starting to wear off. The desk is also some what easily scratch-able but nothing that it isnt fixable.Out of everything it is a very amazing desk indeed!

Like always when you buy a product from Amazon you’re asked to give a review. Here we go. I ordered a Sauder Harbor View computer desk for my daughter. Before I wrote this review I decided to read other reviews of this desk especially the negative ones. I have to say I received a quality product with no defects unlike other customers. The assembly was ok I got it done but it was laborious. I had my children help by bringing me parts while I worked from a central location. Another review mentions not all parts are labeled... this is true some parts you had to compare to the illustrations in the assembly booklet. A complaint I agree with is the order your asked to build the desk. Your ask to build the hutch first and then your asked to build the desk to the hutch which I didn’t like. I actually placed the hutch upside down and carefully built the desk on top it made it easier to assemble and when I was finished I had help carefully putting the desk on its back and then stood it upright. Some people who had a bad product add that the product was not worth the price. Well I did my due diligence and compared prices. My daughter like all children just come and say this is what I want without concerns about price, well not me what ever I can save I can put toward something else like a gaming chair she wants. The point would be Amazon merchants had the lowest price I could find at that time a savings of $80 so I am pleased with the price I had no issues with the desk. My daughter’s desk is sturdy and after 2 months is holding up no chips or cracks. Like everything in life buyer beware so inspect your product as soon as you get it to make sure there aren’t any blemishes. Build your product ASAP so if there is a problem like missing part you have ample time to resolve issues before you run out of time for returns. All in all we like the desk it looks nice in my daughter’s room.

Bought this desk for our 9 year old daughter, but would be a good option for adults as well. The instructions were easy to follow, but even so it took about 5 total hours for me to put it together broken up over two sessions. The reviews I'd read spoke about poor instructions, but I'm guessing the instructions were improved at some point. Sauder has most of the pieces labeled with letters which are referenced in the manual. There were a few pieces that the labels were written in pen on the edge of the wood laminate sections and weren't obvious at first. The only error I made briefly was when installing the lateral file door guides on top of the file drawer. You need to use the black plastic guides for this section, and the manual wasn't very clear on this point. We were also expecting the color to be more of an antique-white as described, whereas in reality it's a light tan wood color finish. It looks nice, but would have preferred more of the antique white as shown in the picture.

Just fabulous! I am very impressed. A very solid piece of furniture that was easily assembled now sits in my office looking charmingly "Nantucket." I certainly don't have any complaints however, the back board to the desk had sustained a nasty injury in the form of two large dents/breaks in the wood during transit. The company may want to look into that for future shipping.

It's HEAVY! It came in two packages weighing over 100lb each, so I needed help bringing them in. putting it together is also a 2-person job. For the most part it's well-engineered and the instructions are thorough. Putting on the back and getting the door and drawers to be straight took almost half of the six hours it took to put together. The backing is flimsy and on the monitor side it would look a lot better with smaller cut-outs for the cords rather than gigantic perforations for an entire monitor.But other than that I'm really happy with it. It's solid and has so much space for my stuff, and there is plenty of usable surface space. The computer cupboard keeps my computer nicely out of sight and there is ample drawer space. The little shelf below the keyboard tray is perfect for my power bar.Note that it's not white. It's more of a light cream colour with strips of light brown to make it look like it's been whitewashed, sorta.

The desk is so beautiful and I am thankful for delivering the product to me as promised.
