A review of a Mini Espresso Maker by Pressopump (Manual)
After many years of drinking espresso coffee at local coffee shops, and drip coffee at home. I told myself I no longer want to spend money outside and drink crappy coffee at home anymore. My search for a perfect machine to produce a decent cup of espresso quality coffee began.Looking at the unreliable espresso machines that were less than $500, I opted for a stovetop coffee maker instead. With high expectations, I could not produce a cup without a slight taste of burn with it. Not willing to give up, I went back to the market for a different product instead. Then, I came across an advertisement for Wacaco Minipresso, I figured why not give it a try? I ordered a Wacaco Minipresso ($54) and this unit of Mini Espresso Maker by Pressopump ($35).Both units are quite similar in terms of quality and the process of making coffee. Here are the steps to make a shot of espresso:1. Boil the water till it reaches 195 degrees F2. Fill up the chamber that holds coffee with fine grind ground coffee beans, and lightly tamp it3. Tightly seal the cap4. Pour the boiling water into the tank that holds the water and TIGHTLY seal it (or water will leak)5. Pump it with identical force until coffee starts coming outThere are noticeable differences between the Wacaco and Pressopump though:1. Wacacao is slightly heavier2. The pump on the Pressopump is more consistent in comparison with the Wacaco getting stuck halfway through quite often3. Price Price Price! Pressopump is almost half the price of the unit from Wacacao with the same or better quality buildWith the Wacaco returned, here comes the pros and cons of owning a Mini Espresso Maker by Pressopump:Pros:+ Great taste, almost identical to a real espresso shot from expensive machines+ Uses very little coffee to make a shot+ Very portable and versatile+ Great priceCons:- Compare to other coffee makers, it is more time consuming (10 minutes to make 3 shots of espresso)- Water will leak and burn your hands if you do not tightly seal itOverall I am happy with this product and recommend it for people who wants a portable inexpensive device to make decent shots of espresso. Let's see if it stand the test of time.

Hassles and Burns | Edited 03 Nov
After reading the positive reviews here, I had reasonable expectations of a good espresso maker. Wasn't so, sadly.1. The product comes with an usb cable (no plug)2. There is no indication of the unit's charge level; usually most new battery-powered items come with some level of charge. Unfortunately, even the instructions of this product don't mention it. Minimalist product design should incorporate intuitive functioning.3. Assuming remnant charge, I still plugged in the cable, but couldn't find any charge indicators* (*see point 6)4. Poured in 90 ml of boiling water in the water tank, added medium ground coffee in the filter basket, and upturned it. Immediately, trickles of scalding water streamed over my hand. Not acceptable!5. Pressed the switch, and nothing happened. Tried a few times, without success. Guessed it could be a powering issue (this is why indicators or instructions are necessary), and put the unit on charge for 2 hours, with water and coffee locked inside. Tried again, and yes, got a proper single shot of espresso with impressive crema in colour and texture. Of course, the coffee was cold by now.6. Wrote to Kohi Plus from their website. They responded after 24 hours, and told me to look for indicator lights above the switch. I found them; 4 bars of faint blue, indicating unit was fully charged. Not really my bad, these lights are too faint to see in normal daylight unless you're really looking for them, and aren't visible unless the usb cable is plugged in. That'd bad product designing.7. My 2nd attempt, with Nescafe Gold powder, yielded nothing. More scalding of hand, and then having to spend an hour trying to unscrew the outlet head which had probably got vacuum locked. No coffee, plenty of exasperation.8. My 3rd attempt, with medium ground coffee, yielded a weak cup of tepid coffee with no crema. Couldn't understand the temperature loss, having put in boiling water moments before. My trials were done over 3 days. After every event the unit was cleaned, dried, and charged for the next trial. I really wanted this to work, but it didn't.Would return it and ask for a refund if I could.UPDATED 03 NOV 2018:Upgrading my review by 1 star more, for good customer service. The seller offered a full refund, a free replacement and additionally, a free Kohipress. I was asked to buy the last two, and they processed a full refund through Amazon. Took a few months, but it finally got done.Pleased that the seller put customer interests ahead of their commercial ones.

Best portable Espresso Maker ?
This is my first order of product made by KOHI+, never owned anything from them or even heard about KOHI+. Stumbled on this espresso maker on amazon decided to pull the plug and order it.Item arrived fast enough but had problem with packaging and I was kinda worried will those guys even respond to my email. Well, this is the first time that I have such a wonderful support. They provided solution to all of my concerns and problems. They were kind and solve my problems very fast! What can I say about KOHI+ - great company with absolutely great support! You can buy with confidence from them!If you have a problem with a product, their support is amazing and they actually care for their customers!Well back to the espresso maker - actually it works and does it better than I expected!Of course you have to balance the grind size, temperature of the water and light tamping to get the maximum possible extraction from the device. You need to preheat the device with first cycle before actual shot of espresso and the resulting shot will be little on the watery side but hey - this is very portable device and the espresso that can be made with it is on a par (or even better according to my wife) of fully automatic machines like Philips Saeco, DeLonghi Prima Donna and etc.The result can really surprise you!Well it took me few extractions to get the shot right so keep in mind the learning curve! If you expect to get better shot from this maker then Slayer Espresso, Rocket Espresso or Decent Espresso machines ... well it will not gonna happen. Those machines cannot be taken with you in your backpack and be useful in your tent, car, hotel room, at least not so easy like this one.The KOHI+ product is a great solution for travelers tired from bad coffee on the road! Its a must have for a espresso lovers! In the next version of the device I really would like to see preheating of the water done by the machine with ability to choose the temperature :-). Good compact travel case will be great too.Keep the good work KOHI+ !

A great Esspresso pump with great service
I've had/have various portable esspresso makers (Aeropress, Staresso etc) and this one ranks with the Staresso. The good:Battery lasts ages.Very easy to use.Esspresso tastes great and I don't get the acids of a press style coffee so my stomach is happy. The flip side is:A little noisy... but honestly if you want an electric pumped maker then... suck it up!The filter could be a little finer - there is a little more sediment than I would like - but I will try different grinds. Certainly the Staresso filters a little better and gets a slightly better foam. For camping, working away from home... its brilliant. At home I still use the Delonghi most of the time. The Aeropress, which is brilliant... gathers dust.In the interest of openness - I bought two of these. The first worked fine but had a rough edge on the filter and I caught my finger on it. So I requrested a return and ordered a second because I really like it.Presso were all over it and wanted photos and to know the details so they could get it resolved even before they got the return - they refunded the original without a question - and then refunded the second one in good will. This might be because it is new and they do not want bad press. Hopefully they will maintain this level of service. So a great pump with great service. Hopefully they have nailed the QC issue too by now.

Good, but really tighten that water tank!
I bought it specifically to use on holiday, but gave it a couple of trial runs. Firstly,I purchased and fitted the Nespresso adaptor, as I don't want to carry around beans and a grinder, or ground coffee. The first run saw a substantial leakage of very hot water from the reservoir, when inverting the Pressopump, after filling it with 70ml of boiling water. The second run was uneventful, and I enjoyed a very good latte. The instructions tell you to close the water reservoir very tightly, and they mean very tightly indeed; merely tight isn't enough!

This little machine performed very well and made a nice cup of coffee
This little machine performed very well and made a nice cup of coffee. It is quick and easy to use. It would be a good choice for someone with little time or at the office. You can't really go wrong but without reading the instructions you might be confused and you need to fill it with hot water yourself so you need to be careful when handling.

PRESSOPUMP STOP WORKING AFTER SIX MONTHS
Although at the beginning I was satisfied with this product, nice design and good quality coffee maker, finally the machine wasn't working anymore. Four moths after the purchase the moor pump of the machine start to fail time to time; In spite that you could here the noise of the pump, this seem not to have pressure enough to get the coffee, and after several tries you could get it. But just 3 days ago even the motor doesn't work and it isn't even possible to charge again.I already contact with seller KOHI+ (through Amazon) in order to get a repair or replace of the product according with the product guarantee. I'll keep you posted.
