Got this while it was sale for under $200. Does the job well. It's not going to blow your mind, but the touch screen is responsive, starts up quickly, and the battery never seems to die. If you need portability and most of what you do is web-based or uses apps from the Android store, then this is a solid option.

I purchased the Acer 314 as a replacement for my Acer model CB3-431 Chromebook, which had just reached its AUE date. So far the new model has delivered solid performance and crisp graphics, all that I could ask for. The fact that the Acer 314 was sold by Amazon, and delivered from their warehouse, was important to me, as I had a recent unpleasant experience with one of Amazon's selling partners. I'd previously ordered a different brand laptop, as new, from an independent seller through Amazon. What I received was the wrong model number laptop in a plain unbranded box without a manual or any literature, just the laptop and power cord; nothing to indicate I had actually received a new item, and never mind that it was the wrong model number to begin with. Big red flags! Naturally I returned the laptop, and many thanks to Amazon for seeing to a prompt refund. Lesson learned was always to check the reviews of any independent Amazon partner or reseller, just as one would check reviews for an item being considered. Ordering the Acer 314 sold by Amazon and shipped from their warehouse ensured that I would receive the correct model number, new, in an Acer-branded box, and complete with all the attendant manuals and literature I had expected. Moreover, it arrived within 48 hours, a plus. Under Settings > About ChromeOS > Additional details, the Acer 314 is scheduled to receive automatic updates until June 2027, which is okay with me as I should probably be ready for a new laptop by then anyway. Altogether I'm quite happy with the Acer 314 and would recommend it for anyone looking for a quality budget Chromebook.

Es una buena chromebook:VENTAJAS: - Muy barata para el tiempo que va a durar, no se me alentara de aquí en 7 años por lo menos - Muy rápida (sólo cosas de navegación en Google Chrome) e instalables como plugins o programas propios de Chrome como la paqueteria tipo Office que ofrece Google o Office versión ONLINE) - Muy buena cámara web y audio poco bajo que decente pero cumple su función- Puedes comprar muchas de las apps de la android storeDESVENTAJAS: - No tiene teclado latinoamericano, así que no puedes escribir la letra "Ñ" y la distribucion del teclado es diferente a la de Windows así que a ciertas personas mayores de edad supongo les causara mucho conflicto.- Tiene tecla BLOQ MAYUS, pero tiene el símbolo de la lupa, así que tienes que configurar que esa tecla sea BLOQ MAYUS y no de BUSCAR, es muy fácil de hacerlo y no es ningún problema.Es una MUY buena compra en relación de "calidad" solamente, así que va a durar bastante tiempo sin tener que comprar otra , PERO en cuestión de USABILIDAD creo que el teclado es bastante malo para cierto perfil de usuarios.Creo es la mejor compra que puedes hacer si quieres gastar poco, dure MUCHO, sea muy rápida y NO vas a usar programas de de windows que sólo se pueden instalar en windows como cosas muy profesionales como renderizados, etc. Sólo ten en cuenta que debes de adaptarte al nueso sistema operativo de Chrome OS y el teclado que no es latinoamericano, aunque puedes comprar un teclado externo y lo lee bien.

I purchased this initially for my daughter as she needed a new laptop for online school. It worked great for her, especially since the school is using google products. It is a touch screen, quick to wake up, and in addition to working well for her school, she watches netflix etc. I have just purchased a second one for my personal use and could not be happier. I just need it for writing and general personal use. If you need a laptop for personal use and do not need anything fancy, this is an amazing option. I do not hesitate to recommend!

I purchased this as a replacement for a Acer Chromebook 15 I used for 3 years. The old Acer Chromebook powers off now whenever you insert a micro sd card. Then it needs to stay off for like 6 hours before you can use it again without it turning off after 15 seconds. I was hesitant about purchasing another Acer however after looking at many other manufacturers offerings those displays were small and blurry by comparison. I did get three years use out of the old one without all of the update hassle and the old one had really great battery life.The new Acer 315 has a better keyboard ( with the DELETE key that was missing on the Acer 15) with a nice tactile feel. The IPS display is great with a really wide viewing angle. The only thing I really miss using the the new Acer is I no longer have a back illuminated keyboard. That it turns out was a bigger deal than I thought. Videos play without problem. My Ethernet adapter is supported natively by the Acer and the Acer is one of the few models available with a display port out over USB C. Great for Nasa imagery that my Smart TV (that is no longer updated) refuses to display. So the Acer Chromebook is sort of pricey but has better portability, battery life, and a display that none of my Windows Laptops can compete with. It does make for a great internet PC.
