Rock Band 3 - Wireless Fender Stratocaster Guitar Controller for Xbox 360

The package came in well-marked, sporting a smiley face and an indicator for where to open it from. When I opened it, the seller had used a second box to keep the neck in place to avoid it bumping around in transit. The guitar came with exactly 3 batteries, a strap, and even had the strap peg unscrewed just in case I was left-handed. Guitar is nearly spotless, and works perfectly, as expected. Seller went above and beyond, 5 stars.

I have 6 or 7 guitars and this is the best in my opinion. I havent tried my Beatles bass guitar yet but hated that 325 whatever beatles guitar. Anyway my favorite guitar was my fender RB2 wireless which this RB3 looks the same to me. I thought it was the same thing till I used it. These buttons are a lot faster and quieter. The strum bar seems faster too. These are great things in my opinion, I seemed to play better and faster instantly and will a lot less mistakes. I know everyone I play with online can here the buttons on all my other guitars. I even try to play them quietly and the buttons are still loud so this thing is great. Now for the down side of this guitar. Down strum doesnt work right out the box on mine. I always upstrum bass and 6 string so didnt notice till I went into quick play and tried to roll through my songs. I dont think the back or start button work either. And you have to hold the xbox dashboard button for a few seconds before it works, same thing with my Beatles 325 groucho or whatever its called. I bought all of these guitars new not used. The good thing is that Amazon is totally awsome on returns and exchanges. I will have them send me another and I will sent this one back. Just having faster , buttons and strum bar make this guitar a must for me. This is a 5 star guitar for the price but gets 4 since its defective out of the box.

I have been playing with an old Guitar Hero guitar for sometime now and the strum was getting noisy. I figured this would be both a good replacement and upgrade. I was impressed at how much of a difference the auto calibration made! I was off by fairly significant amount when I did it manually. This has made the game easier to play by sound and seem more immersive as the timing is now spot on! I usually play with a headset but at times the batteries in the headset have died while playing so I have had the chance to hear it. It is quite and the feel is pretty good. I did order a used one on Amazon and was pretty impressed that the action still feels great and everything seems tight!

Buttons stick, have to push them too hard. Pretty much broken. Do not buy this item. Its broken. Very disappointed

I wasn't completely satisfied with the fact that the pins used to hold the guitar strap were not included. Especially since the guitar must be taken apart to remove one of them Made it seem intentional. As far as the packaging, It made me slightly embarassed to receive. However the guitar functions adequately.

This is my first review on Amazon. Before I get into it, let me say that I play Rock Band once a week and have been doing so for several years. I felt compelled to write this because I wanted to make sure others would have the information I wish I had before making this purchase. I have used many video game guitars over the past few years, beginning with Guitar Hero 1 for the PS2. When I bought RB2, I got a guitar bundled with it at Game Stop. This was a wireless Rock Band guitar with the tan neck and no automatic sync. The fret buttons were noticeably louder than my friends RB2-branded guitar with the dark brown neck. Over the course of a few months, my guitar's yellow button became difficult to press down until it became unplayable. I went online and found how to fix it but once I got the button off, I found that any fix would only be a temporary one. I went on here to find a new, more superior guitar controller. My friend's RB2 guitar works pretty well as long as you don't use the lower/smaller fret buttons. I came on here and found the RB3-branded guitar and read a few reviews. It seemed that it was the same guitar as RB2 but just re-branded. The first thing I noticed with this new guitar was that the fret buttons were quiet and worked well. The strum bar is typical of a RB-branded controller. That's about it for the good things. I found that Overdrive is deployed with even the slightest movement of the guitar. This made some of the RB3 in-game challenges quite difficult because you need to hold your overdrive until the meter is full to complete some of them. Also, using an XBOX 360 wired headset with this guitar is nearly impossible. I have 3 separate headsets and each one had the same issues. Poor sound quality, distorted, high-pitched noises on the other end, and loss of audio communications altogether. My headsets work fine with standard wired and wireless controllers. As of now, the only RB guitar controller that I can recommend to anyone is the MAD CATZ Bass replica controller for RB2. It has the best fret buttons by far. It has absolutely no tendency to deploy over drive unless you really want to use it. It has knobs instead of a typical whammy bar, which eliminates any chance of hitting the start, back, and XBOX guide buttons accidentally. The only downside to that guitar is that the batteries need to be yanked once in a while because it will freeze. To sum it up: Pros: Works fairly well as a guitar controller (except overdrive) Quiet, accurate fret buttons Cons: Overdrive deploys with slightest movement Wired Xbox headset unusable with this controller

The whole rockband 3 game is amazing, cool and fun. The guitar is my favourite instrument on rockband 3, but the drum kit (pro) isn't far behind. I would seriously recomend to anyone who loves music (especially rock and old pop) and families. :)
