PROELIA TX020 Black G-10 Handle D2 Steel Drop Point Blade Bearing System Folding Knife

Nice knife. Well constructed, high quality materials, good weight (7.0 ounces) and it just feels good in your hand. Well balanced and a very smooth action, once you adjust the pivot points and adequately lubricate the bearings. VERY sharp blade; cuts hairs off your arm easily, although D2 tool steel is somewhat difficult to sharpen. It holds an edge for a LONG time though, so at least that's a plus. That said, the knife has one SERIOUS flaw.The pocket clip can only be mounted in the tip up position on the knife handle. While that's not typically an issue with most knives, the tip of the blade, which again is razor sharp, extends to within roughly 1/16th of an inch (or less) of the end of the knife handle. My habit with large folding knives, which the Proelia TX020 definitely is, is to put them in my back pocket. Twice now I have sliced open my thumb on the tip of the blade while removing the knife from my back pocket. Lots of pain and blood ensues.If the pocket clip could be mounted tip down on the knife handle, this wouldn't be an issue and I can't imagine I would ever cut myself on the knife, if that were the case. It's just a VERY poorly designed knife, in regard to the length of the blade, its position within the knife handle and how the end of the handle is shaped. Hopefully the next iteration of the Proelia, the TX030, will solve this problem by providing either a tip down pocket clip mounting option or extending or reshaping of the end of the knife handle to negate the 'sliced thumb' issue. I guess we'll see.Based on my experience with the Proelia TX020, I just can't recommend it for people who, like my, carry their large folding knives in their back pocket, unless, of course, you're okay with slicing your thumb open. I'm not a fan of belt pouches, but I'm sure using the provided pouch would also negate the above mentioned issue. Regardless, I just don't carry or use the knife anymore. It's nice to look at, to flip open and hold in your hand, but for me, that's just not what I bought it for. It WAS going to be my EDC (Every Day Carry) knife, but now it's back in it's box, which is a shame for such a nice knife.

Really great knife! This is the second Russian made knife I've bought after being pleased with the first one (I have many knives) and I am not disappointed. The flipper knife opens smooth as butter with solid lock up. The blade is big and looks like it can do some work. Its not too big for EDC and feels good in the hand. Really pleased so far. Giving 4 stars now only because of little time with the knife.

I bought the TX010 first and loved it so much I got this one. I think I like the TX020 better. Razor sharp out of the box. Excellent packaging and presentation. The handle is absolutely perfect in the hand. I like the flipping action on this one vs. The TX010: This 9ne has jimping kn the flipper, the 010 does not. It makes a difference. Think about what a knife like this would have cost 15 years ago...a ton more. I hope the come out with more models.

PROELIA TX020 G10 Handle Black scales Satin Drop Point Folder. I like this knife very much. Flips open with ease, sharp, heavy weight and fairly large. Well made, everything fits well, no over lapped parts , scales fit firm no wobble in blade when open. Ball bearings on the thick blade for opening works great. When I grip this knife tight, it is solid no flimsy spots noted. Works great for me

I bought this and then a second one with different handle. They were both good and sharp on delivery, which is not always true with ordering knives.Still holds edge. It has taken over as my EDC and I alternate it with a BENCHMADE.Handles well and worth buying two.

The D2 tool steel is razor sharp and retains an edge. The handle fits my palm perfectly. The Proelia blade smoothly and quickly slides out with the ball bearing system.

Bought this for my husband as an anniversary present and he is absolutely in love with it. It cuts through things like butter. He is always taking it out to look at it.

My husband uses this for his every day knife. He loves it or it would be in a box somewhere.
