The Cotter pin is attached to a very weak ring. Trying to remove it when there's a fish on is very dangerous. Under pressure the ring will give and cut your finger. Instead of fish blood on your deck it would be yours. I modified it and hopefully it won't happen again. Also one of my crimps slipped out.Mr. Maja please change the ringsCheck pics
