Best Nightguard Ever! Give yourself time to get used to it.
I have always had trouble with clenching and grinding, and have gotten more help from this nightguard than from any other. I bought my second one about a month ago, after using the first one for six years. Originally, I was nervous about the negative reviews, but since my dentist had recommended it, I gave it a try. It's important to read the instructions on the package. The whole point of using this nightguard is that it trains your jaw muscles to relax in a slightly open position, training you not to clench and grind. It takes a while to get used to it, and it's important to give yourself time. The first step is to correctly adjust the bite pads for the size of your mouth (they have a couple of different adjustment settings). The first night I wore it I barely slept, worried that it was going to slip out of place and choke me or something. During the first week, it gradually got better, although a couple of times I woke up with it out of place. After that, my mouth learned to keep it in place unconsciously. It really does form to your mouth over time. It took about a month before I could close my lips and was really comfortable wearing it. It's a process, but it's totally worth it. Now I find myself grinding much less during the day, and my jaws feel better. I can even be ok skipping the nightguard for a few nights at a time. Over the six years that I had my first one, it never showed any signs of weakening or cracking. It did yellow and get a lot of hard water buildup, but that didn't seem to affect performance. However, it is not recommended to use it for six years. I should have replaced mine about 2 years earlier, because two years ago I started getting chronic cracking in the corners of my mouth, which I could never permanently solve, and when I replaced the nightguard it went away on its own. I think it must have had some kind of microbes embedded in it by that point. So it is important to replace it now and then, even if it still works mechanically.Bottom line--this is a genius nightguard design and I highly recommend giving it a serious try, and giving yourself time to adjust before you give up on it.

Seems well made and has a case
I have a similar product that fits either upper or lower, I prefer upper and wish they had this item to fit either. It appears to be really solid and well made. Unfortunately I am not good at following directions so I will use as is, seems like it will be very comfortable and I love that it is made to last and has a storage case. If you are used to molded items - this is not but is made to fit most if not all mouths. It most likely won't fit your last tooth but you don't need it to, this style of guard can be used on any placement that feels comfortable. Give it a wk or two before freaking out - it is a different style from previous guards. UPDATE - this can be worn on the top teeth and fit the connecting piece under the upper lip - for me that is more comfortable. So if you find this biting your lower gums - flip it to fit your upper teeth and there ya go - more comfy for me. Play with this - it is customizable and very comfy once you find your fit.

Doesn't work for me
I don't understand how this would stay in place. It's very slippery and whenever I bite down with very little pressure, it slips out of place. I think it's because it's too flexible. While it's very comfortable to wear and easy to use/adjust, it's completely useless to me because my teeth are left touching.

They work well.
I was under the antiquated idea that I'd have to pay my dentist $250 for him to custom build a device to inhibit my teeth grinding, so I am very pleased that the Sleep Right dental guard works so well at such a low price. My only criticism is that the flexible piece that joins the left & right sides doesn't fit perfectly to my mouth shape. Not a problem, unless you care how you look while you sleep. I bought two more of these to keep in stock.

Not perfect, but not bad!
I am trying different products to help me with my clenching and teeth grinding. I am trying to avoid paying $500 for a mouth guard from the dentist. First I had tried a classic boil and bite mouth guard, which worked well except I’m a total mouth breather at night and it blocked my air flow. This was the next thing I tried. Keep in mind, this is a cheap option and it’s not customized, so I already knew it wouldn’t be totally perfect. It’s definitely small, and the adjustment doesn’t really make it much bigger. I’d say it is just barely big enough to work for me at the biggest adjustment, I’m a woman in my 30s with a somewhat big head/jaw. At first it seemed really flimsy and I felt like there was no way it would stay in place or be comfortable. The instructions say to let it sit in your mouth for a bit so your body temp heats it up and makes it flex. I decided to pop it in and see if it would be comfortable while I was just hanging out in the day time. It definitely got more comfortable after being in my mouth for a big, and seemed to mold to my mouth a little bit. I’m excited to sleep with it tonight to see if it stays all night. Though it’s not perfect, I don’t necessarily regret trying it. A customized mouth guard would likely be more comfortable, but it would be 25x the cost of this product. Worth trying if you’re looking for a budget solution.

Pleasantly surprised!
When I got this it seemed flimsy and a little uncomfortable with the strap across the front, which made my lips bulge open. But it is incredibly comfortable for sleep. All the boil and bite one’s I’ve purchased before always felt like they were shifting my bite, or two narrow somehow, pushing on the sides of my teeth. Because you don’t mold this one, and it is a little flimsy, you can position it just where you want it and don’t need it perfectly fitted. I do wear it upside down as for me the strap across the front fits better across my top teeth, but it works perfectly fine. Feels nice and cushy compared to others I’ve used.
