Magnet works evenly, all over the board. Like the wood instead of metal. The second we bought, the wood didn't look as nice and light as the first, but still good. Can be ordered in 2 different lengths.

Good product, nice wood and strong magnet. No issues with installation. great feature for the kitchen. Wished that I've gotten a longer one..

The mounting at the back are just cut out from the wood (maybe router-ed out and layered?)So all the weight of the knifes and the force of taking a knife off of the block end up transferring through those 2 small wooden taps. It's working at the moment, but time will tell if they are actually sturdy enough to last repeated stress from knifes been taken off of the block everyday

Beautiful wood and strong hold! I went with the 11” and it holds 5 knives nicely! My knives are Viking so they are on the heavier side. We use this in our RV but remove the knives when traveling.
