Love this book!!
If your child needs help with critical and creative thinking, this is the book for you. I absolutely love this book! To my surprise, it’s actually fun to do as a family. Most importantly, I have seen improvements in my child’s ELA grades.

Wonderful!
This book is full of fantastic activities for enrichment inside and outside of the classroom. I bought the 4th and 5th grade editions for my 4th grade gifted son. The school does not provide enough challenge for the GATE children, so I supplement at home. I have found the exercises in these books to be fun and the perfect length for my son to do one 3-page activity per night in addition to his regular homework (which he finishes in 20 minutes, so I feel the extra work is needed to prepare for the onslaught of homework a few years from now in middle school!) I say 3-page activity because there will be a theme and each theme has 3 pages pertaining to the theme to work on. My son seems to be having fun doing the activities in these books, he hasn't complained at all, and I love seeing his answers on his completed work. Many of the questions allow for open-ended free-thinking answers, but there are also logical thinking questions and problems to figure out, too. I really love these books!

Fun critical thinking book
I purchased this book to help my 7 year old develop his critical thinking skills. He has fun with it, and I love all the different activities. The book is divided up into 46 different three page spread topics, such as My Room, At the Beach, Wild Cats, Fictional Characters, Superheroes, My Hands, Our Earth, and Rules. The first two pages of each topic have a variety of different activities, such as analogies, writing sentences that are always, sometimes, and never true, if the answer is this then the question is ____. The last of the three pages is some type of larger activity. My son loves this book. It's a great tool to help kids start to look at things in different ways. I'm definitely purchasing the Grade 5 when we get close to completing this one.

Great find!
My son is being homeschooled because of COVID. He was in WINGS at his school and they used a lot of the techniques in this book for learning. I find this book very helpful in keeping him on track for when he returns to school.

Nice Brain Word for Kids
I have been doing these with my 9 year old and they are great to get her thinking more creatively and logically. Sometimes the puzzles are a bit tricky for her, but that's a good thing.

Great workbook!
We start our home school day with Critical and Creative. This is our second purchase having used the grade 3 version last year. The lessons are truly engaging, well-planned and enjoyable.

Evan-Moor Rules the Morning Work
Any management book worth its salt will recommend that you get the students working as soon as possible when they enter the classroom in the morning. This is a great way to do it. These activities are challenging, yet can be completed independently. In an ideal universe (with money), I would do the following:Monday - Evan Moor Daily Math PracticeTuesday - Evan Moor Daily Reading ComprehensionWednesday - Evan Moor Daily Word ProblemsThursday - Evan Moor Daily 6 Traits WritingFriday - Evan Moor Critical and Creative Thinking Activities (my favorite of all)In a very perfect world I'd have 1 level below the grade I teach, 1 level above, and of course 1 on level. This way you can easily differentiate morning work that can be independently completed. It gets the kids to work right away alleviating any behavior issues and limiting the social time while they put their coats away. Morning work like this also frees you up for car duty, hall monitoring, last minute copying, explaining the day to your substitute aide, logging in to the online system to take morning attendance, reading the notes sent to you, pulling small groups to work with students who didn't get the math lesson yesterday.... you get the picture. I've tried a few different books like this, and Evan Moor seems to have really hit the nail on the head. It takes just the right amount of time to complete, and can be gone over very quickly. In other words, I love this. This was the first book I bought, and remains my favorite of the bunch.
