Love, Sadness & Final endings
Another Bones DVD that is a must to complete your collection. I received it on-time and in good condition. Spoiler alert! This is the final season had only 12 episodes that they tried to wrap up as many story lines as they could; Big stars Betty White, Ed Asner, Hal Holbrook, return of both Zack & Sully, the death of Bone's dad, Max & Booth's friend/priest, Aldo, Angela's pregnancy, Cam & Arastoo's wedding & of course the bombing of the Jeffersonian which leaves Bones with a brain injury! There are other things going on in the other episodes but not as interesting as what I listed above! I love the chemistry between all the main characters and the interns that they keep changing out every episode. It was hard to watch the ending but getting the whole 12 seasons of show on DVD means watching it over & over again!

Great series and so many hours of needed entertainment at ...
Great series and so many hours of needed entertainment at a great price. Personally I couldn't view the gory bodies at the beginning and had to shut my eyes or have nightmares from the incredibly realistic images (great art work, much appreciated, but the subject - ugh!). Rarely in any series have I found a couple, working couple or romantic couple, with such a lively dynamic. The balance was ideal, an accomplished woman with some significant social skills deficits, which I actually enjoyed, not having much tolerance for social superficiality myself, and an accomplished and sensitive man with his own life and feelings and experience who was, nonetheless, truly loving of his partner and all her foibles. He was not afraid to challenge her insensitivity when needed, and she was able, through their mutual love, to receive his "correction" without a hint of sexism in the dynamic. From the very first series I felt that we were able to love her because we could see her through his eyes. This is unique in my experience as the male gaze upon women is so frequently unkind, at best, and dehumanizing at worst. I was sorry when this series was over. We watched it twice and will no doubt watch it through again in a few years when we have forgotten the details (except those gory bodies; the bones were interesting, but the rotting flesh, like Bones, not to my liking!)

So sorry to see this great show end
The only things I have against this DVD set is that it was short and was the final season of Bones. This show had three of the most attractive women, because they were intelligent as well as beautiful. I started watching Bones with the first season and have enjoyed from beginning to end. David Boreanaz is always good, but the character of Seeley Booth and the way he played him was just great. The rest of the cast was great, too. I was upset when they dropped Eric Millegan's character of Zack Addy, but I enjoyed the other interns, though I was glad to see him back for the final two seasons. I would highly recommend this show to anyone. it is intelligent and usually well-written weith just about the right bit of tongue in cheek. I hope the rest of the cast find work soon, because I would love to see them all again, especially together. Maybe they could do some Bones reunion television movies.

Puts a nice bow on the series
++++Warning, this will contain spoilers from prior seasons, but no major giveaways from season 12+++++As most know this was the final season of Bones. It ended up being a partial (12 episode) season to resolve the cliffhanger at the end of season 11, and give the various characters a final send off. The cliffhanger involving Zach kidnapping Brennan is resolved in the season premier, and a larger arc throughout the season revisits the original Gormagon story line, which was (in my opinion) the weakest ending to a story line that the show had. The other major story arc that played out through the final 12 episodes was Booth being targeted because of a sniper mission he was involved in back in the 1990s. And of course, the various case of the week crimes to solve. The show did a good job of bringing back as many characters from the past (and making references to prior stories) as possible. The only major characters that did not appear in person were the deceased ones (Sweets and Vincent Nigel Murray and Booth's brother) although there were references to them, Parker, Brennan's brother, and the original director of the Jeffersonian, Dr. Goodman. It would have been nice to see Sweets in person in a dream or hallucination sequence (had John Francis Daily been willing and able to do so), but I think the show did a good job of paying homage to its past. It would have also been nice to get an appearance by Angela's dad to hassle Jack one last time. For those who get the DVDs, the set is, like it has been in prior years fairly bare bones (pun intended). Just the episodes, and then on the final disc an approximately 20 min retrospective looking at the show over the years featuring interviews with the cast, writers and creators of the show, and a 3 min gag reel. Okay for what is there, but not as much as was included in the prior season releases (especially the seasons that were put out on blu-ray). Of course, after season 8 the studio stopped releasing it on blu-ray, so the DVD releases end up being all there are for people who do not just want to stream the show.Ultimately Bones was a show that ended up going much longer than almost anyone expected, which was especially surprising given Fox's notoriously quick trigger on yanking shows. Given that Bones did take a while to find its footing as a show, it is amazing it lasted as long as it did. The season ends on very much of a "life will go on" feel for the various characters, and I think fans of the show will be pleased with how it is wrapped up. If you only get DVDs for the extras, there is no amazing content that makes them a must get vs streaming. But if you have the prior seasons already it is worth getting to complete a collection.
