The gator was the first Hear Doggy silent squeak toy I got for my puppy, and we loved it so much we bought a few others but this one has held up the best, it's great that she can be excited from the squeak she hears while humans are spared.Squeak:The squeak is silent to humans but not dogs as advertised, you only hear a puff of air. The dog ripped apart another one (the beaver) and the body contains a small air pouch with a small plastic dog whistle attached to one end that makes the "silent" squeak. Other reviews have correctly noted that the small plastic whistle piece easily detaches if your dog rips it open. I've also had the whistle come detached while still fully contained in the body, just from the dog chewing on it without even breaking it open. Luckily I knew what the inside looked like from the beaver she killed, so was able to reattach the whistle to the air pouch while it was still inside. My dog isn't an aggressive chewer and rarely shreds up her toys, so I'm not concerned about safety, but I do take these away when she's alone and give her other safer toys just in case.Construction:The material is durable and has held up well to heavy use by my 30 pound puppy, but she's not an aggressive chewer. We slightly ripped the beaver version of this toy playing tug of war but only because his arm got caught, we still play tug with the gator and cow versions just making sure to always grab the body or head and they're holding up well. The body is flat without stuffing and just the squeak mechanism, but the head is stuffed, but there's not a ton so wasn't bad to clean up when she killed the beaver.

We have two black Belgian sheep dogs and they are pretty tough on their toys. So these are not for dogs that are easily to tear up things but if you’re looking for less noise, basically silent noise then these are the ones to get. No longer will we get toys that make noise. These were perfect and our dogs will sit on the couch and squeeze and squeeze and squeeze and we make a joke of looking at a dog and tell them that those are so loud they’re hurting our ears. The fact is they’re so quiet that all you can hear is the air push out every once in a while when they’re close to you.Best investment for our dogs to have a little bit of fun even though they tear them up and pull out the stuffing and we end up having to get more. So my only con of this whole situation is that they could be sturdier, meaning they could be heavily stitched and more like leather that is harder for them to rip apart. But we will keep buying them because we don’t want any noise!

Just arrived today. Item had black smudges on the foot and face, however - dogs were asleep when it arrived. I opened it right next to them and squeezed the little bulb inside. You can hear an air sound (like a broken squeaker makes) but they didn't even look up. They didn't hear it. I tried several times in several places, and NOTHING. However, I ordered a blue action bunny and they instantly woke up when I squeaked it.I tried to contact seller, but there was no option to, so hence the 1 star.Either it's broken (probably why it has smudges all over it) or it is simply a lie. They say humans can't hear it. So yeah, for those who buy it and their dog is actively LOOKING at it, then they get excited might assume it works. It's not even neat enough they want to play with it. It's just laying on the floor while they play with their other toys. That make a racket.

I'm satisfied with this toy! My dog loves it because it's flat and she can thrash it around. After some supervision, I feel pretty comfortable leaving her alone with this toy - no tearing after a lot of play. 4/5, but pretty close to 5/5. For the price, it's a great find for a silent squeaker toy!On Day 2, she was starting to bite through the tail, so I ended up cutting it off. You might want to cut it off in advance if your dog is a chewer.After about a week, I started hearing a rattling noise from inside the toy. It seems like the squeaker is broken, with two separate pieces inside. My dog doesn't try to get the pieces out, so I'm not worried. She's still interested in the toy without the squeaker. I'm thinking about getting other toys from this brand since I had a good experience with this one.

The media could not be loaded. This has survived a week of terrier focused attention and tug of war between its owner and our lab. Usually stuffing and a squeaker are removed by him in hours, so seriously amazing it is in one piece. The gentle wind noise of the “silent squeaker” is easy to ignore for me and still fun for the doggles. Love love love this. Btw, the alligator version succumbed to stuffing removal about 3 days in. Something about this giraffe is really hard core!

This showed up in my search for “indestructible dog toys” and we purchased it along with a few others. I blame Amazon (search algorithm) and myself for wasting my $ on this. It’s probably great for small dogs, but my large mixed breed pups destroyed it quickly.

We have had it for a couple weeks and it is holding up fine. We have a blue healer. He absolutely loves carrying it around. We can't hear anything, but we notice he frequently bites its head in the same spot...I assume to make the squeal sound. Then he picks it up and proudly carries it around the house.

Our dog destroyed it and because we are past the 30 days warranty we won't get the free replacement. Not worth the money

My dog has not destroyed it yet and I cannot hear the squeaker but I am finding hair everywhere so she has mostly eaten it as well which could be dangerous

The seams were not reinforced in anyway and the strings were ripping at the seams after the dogs chewing for only a couple of minutes. The dog had this ripped apart and had it in pieces within 10 minutes. I would never purchase this again and regret buying it to begin with.
