Dovetail Marker

This handy little tool gives you 4 options so far as angles. It is very easy to use. It seems to be well made. I just got it a couple of days ago and they are already asking for this review. However, I have used a friend's many times and finally decided to get my own. Hand cut dove tails are fun and not as difficult as some people think. Rob Cosman recently made a video with a few new twists that really work. If you are thinking about getting one of these, go ahead and order it. Not expensive, definitely helpful and should last a long time.

The jig is super easy to use. Professional and layman alike. Feel free to buy one if you are interested in dovetailing. I needed one to help me along the way of understanding how to mark and cut the angles needed. I'm getting better because it did make marking easier.

Have not used yet... but it is well built, easy to read. At first glance couldn't figure out if printed ratios were for outside or inside tracing. But it became a little more obvious after a few minutes playing.

I know Paul Sellers has a wonderful tutorial on how to make your own, and that’s the better way to go. However I also know I’d never get it as precise as this little doohickey. So I’ll settle for shameful convenience in this case.

first time to get into woodworking, and this is the first time to use such a product. nice made of metal, and has clear markings. easy to use, and bought it because it has the cut out, which i use for the small projects that i make. so instead of using the outside, i use the inside measurements. so it's like having four markers.

I made my own dovetail templates but ordered this as well, thinking that it might work better. It doesn't. This would have been useful had it allowed marking both perpendicular surfaces. There are dovetail templates like that, but they are more pricey. It does provide you options for different angles, but I am not sure why I would use different angles. The wooden tool I made has only one angle and it works just fine. I am keeping it and perhaps will find it useful in the future,.

The biggest problem with cheap dressers are the drawers. They break down far too quickly and then you junk the whole thing. For people that appreciate furniture that lasts, dovetailing is the way to go. This handy tool makes it simple.
