How to Play Erhu, the Chinese Violin: The Basic Skills

I had no idea another English speaking person would write a book on how to play the Erhu, but here it is, and wow what a book. It teaches from the beginning of learning to basic understanding of the entire process of playing and Erhu. I have another book, but was a bit confused as to how to understand the contents. This one sets it all out and lets you know first hand how to play with simple instructions, and guidance. I could not be happier.

A concise and highly useful introduction to playing! It gave. Lear explanation that I can immediately apply to learning to play.

This was a super confusing book with poor illustrations. The grammar and English was broken making it difficult to understand and there was little to no explanation of how to set the erhu up or how to properly play it.

Difficult to follow instructions from the book.

Although the content of teaching the Erhu is adequate the printing of the actual music scores are quite blurred and the symbols quite small making the learning of a new type of musical instrument almost impossible! This is very frustrating as the handbook is otherwise very well written.
