Ja, Zoo

I love this album and if you are thinking about getting it I say go for it. I've listened to it a dozen times at least and will listen at least another hundred times. Hurry Go Round is probably my favorite song on it right now but Tell Me and Pink Spider are right up there too. All the songs are great and now I want to get more of hide's music.

One of the best guitarist ever out of Japan and certainly one of the best singers as well (I've rarely heard someone able to sing so many different styles of music so well) hide was a great artist and always produced euqally great music. Ja,Zoo is an album which he recorded with a band he had formed and it includes many memorable songs. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes to try new things (if you're new to japanese rock music) or any other J-rock fan looking for a great CD... Ja,Zoo is a great buy

Anyone who doesn't know who hide was should by this album or Psyence. His songs are an incredibly unique, catchy mix of rock, pop, punk, and industrial that sounds like nothing you've ever heard before. It's impossible to pick highlights, every track is so strong, but it's easy to say that 'Pink Spider' is a rock classic. His death is a tragedy, but at least he left gems like this one behind. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Former X-Japan member hide is one of the best guitarists that I have ever heard, and it is sad that he is dead. His music is a perfect combination of various styles and sounds. I love all the songs on his CDs Ja Zoo and Psyence, both of which I highly recommend. Notable favorites are Leatherface, Breeding, Pink Spider, Everfree, Pose, Damage, Misery, and Beauty and Stupid. Each song has its own unique qualities that stand out and add to the overall experience. Buy this CD and Psyence if you don't have it all ready.

Anyone who has followed hide or his former band X-Japan will find that hide has done it again with his newest and last cd. It contains much of hide's well known hard guitar as well as more mellow songs and even a bit of techno. I would highly recommend this cd for any hide or new J-Pop fan.

hide might be gone, but his music lives on. As a fan of hide, i could not wait for this relaese. But sadly it was the last hide album. Different types of songs for different moods. Fans of hard guitar should check out track 3 (leather face).

Without doubt, he was one of the genius musicians in the world. His ability as a member of X-Japan and leader of SpreadBeaver shows everything. We cannot see him anymore, but his music and voice will remain forever.

JA Zoo is the final album recorded by Hide and his solo band, Spread Beaver before Hide sadly passed away in May 1998. This album was released shortly after his death and out of his 3 solo albums, this is the best one in my opinion.After X-Japan disbanded at the end of 1997, Hide recorded 2 albums, this one and one with his newly formed American Industrial band, Zilch.This is without a doubt Hide's finest work as a solo artist.The 2 biggest stand out tracks, Rocket Dive and Pink Spider are still played and covered by various bands in Japan. Even 18 years after his death, Hide's legacy is still as strong as ever in Japan and this album is a perfect example of why he is still adored by millions.The albums lyrics are primarily Japanese with the odd English phrase and as someone who can't speak or understand Japanese at all, I still find this really enjoyable.It is without a doubt better than a lot of music released in the West and X-Japan are without a doubt the greatest band you've never heard of.Even if you're English speaking like me, if you like rock music then go check out X-Japan and Hide's 3 solo albums

..:Wie nicht anders von hide zu erwarten war. Leider ist es etwas kurz (Intro/Outro + 8 Songs), jedoch sind die Songs uns insb. die ausgefallenen Stilmixe ein Muss für Musikliebhaber und eine Inspiration für Hörer, Musiker und die, die gerne über den Tellerrand hinausblicken. Das Booklet ist nat. auf Japanisch, was zwar bzgl des Verständnisses schwierig ist, wenn man mit Kanji nicht bewandert ist, jedoch verständlich, da hide bedauerlicherweise verstorben ist und so weder die Staaten noch Europa mit seiner Musik überrennen konnte. Und er hätte gekonnt, Ja Zoo ist (einer) der Beweis(e).Übrigens, für alle CD-Sammler: Die CD selbst bzw Verpackung wie auch Booklet sind alternativ gestaltet. Nichts Weltbewegendes, doch es gibt einige Gimmicks und wirklich sehr schön geschossene Photos. Allein deshalb sollte Ja Zoo in keiner Sammlung fehlen.Anstandslos schließe ich mich meinem Vorredner an.Und bedauere wieder und wieder, dass wir von hide nicht mehr mitbekommen konnten :(

98年秋、発表。hideさんが最後まで完成させることができなかったので、どうしても不完全さのようなものがあるにはありますが。悩みながらも、前を向いて走り続けようとしたhideさんが見える一枚。PATAさんや周りの人たちが残してくれた。どこか歌詞に優しさがにじむ、聞きやすいROCKET DIVE、(ROCKET DIVEが好きな方は、トリビュートアルバムで布袋さんが歌ったものもお勧め)世の中そんなに甘くはないけれど、井の中の蛙にならずに、不信の糸を断ち切って自分の力で飛べ、そう歌うPINK SPIDER。これだけ評価が高かった人だからこそなのか、葛藤が見えるever freeこれらは三部作といわれていて、お勧めの三曲。また春に会いましょうと歌うHURRY GO ROUNDは、当時のファンなら今でも泣きそうな曲。DICEにしてもHi-Hoにしても、hideさんのシングルは聞きやすくてもしっかりと内容のある、いい曲が多いですが、それ以外の曲も、いいものが多くて。ソロアルバムは3枚なので、子ギャルなどで興味をもたれた方は、HIDE YOUR FACE、PSYENCE、Ja,Zoo(ヤズー)と続けて聞いてみてください。(最後にJa,Zoo(ヤズー)を聞くのがつらい、という方は、Ja,Zoo(ヤズー)からPSYENCE、HIDE YOUR FACEと聞いてもいいかも)女の人は特にそうだと思いますが、歌詞カードに記載はありませんが、DOUBT’97(MIXED LEMONeD JELLY MIX)の最初の一言は、今、聞いてもドキッとして。

ヘビーな曲もポップな曲も繊細な曲もすべてが才能にあふれていて魅力的。こんなに多才なアーティストは珍しい。

やっぱりいいです！以前買った同じCDが割れてしまっため購入あの頃がよみがえってきました。ただ最後の曲の23分越えがちょっと意図が分かりませんね。
