EXCELLENT CHOICE "You won't be sorry! - The Panda Washing Machine" PAN70SWR-GPS Larger Size Fully Automatic 2.1 cf
MY SEARCH FOR THE PANDARecently my 1999 Frigidaire 4.5 Cu. Ft. top loading washing machine broke down It would no longer spin and was dripping water when running from the bottom. I decided to do some research, and find a new washing machine. A friend told me to look on Amazon they have some very good small machines, including those that RV'rs use. I was skeptical. I did fine many two drum type machines made in China that are made of plastic and have small knobs to set the time and wash cycles. They looked very cheap to me; however, many of them were were rated 4 to 5 stars, even though they were very small 0.5 to 0.9 cf wash drum. So I expanded my search further. To see if Amazon had some slightly larger machines, and that did not require two drums, one for washing, and one for spin cycle. I found a machine made by "Magic Chef", with a 1.0 cf wash tub. Many of the reviews however showed that people had a lot of problems with with the way it performed. I still wanted something a bit larger, and with better reviews. Onward with my search. I found another manufacturer called Haier, that still had a very small 1.0 cf and a larger 1.5 cf wash drum. I kept searching. I then came across what appeared to be an American made GE - Spacemaker washing machine which had a 2.6 Cu. wash drum, but after reviewing many complaint on it leaking and other malfunctions, thought perhaps a machine that had between a 1.5 and 2.6 cf wash drum would be a good choice for my needs. This searching took quite a while and by day number 3 of my Amazon search and reviewing I was getting very close to my final choice. I kept associating Chinese mad machines with cheap plastic small machines, but then I came across the Panda 50SWR-GPS, Which has a medium size 1.5 cf wash drum, is Fully Automatic and washed the clothes all in one drum. This unit had excellent reviews, and on the Panda 50SWR-GPS Amazon page the was a link to a [larger Panda 70SWR], This was it! This Panda machine has a 2.1 cf wash drum, can hold up to 15 lbs of clothes, is almost the same exterior size as the 1.5 Cu ft unit, and weighs only 12 pounds more. Again it's reviews on Amazon page and elsewhere were 4.5 to 5 stars predominately. I live alone, so I saw this as the perfect size for one or even 2 people to use.MY COST, MY DELIVERY, AND UNBOXING THE PANDA 70SWR-GPSI found the price to be very reasonable. $324 for my purchase, plus CA. tax. So I took the plunge and quickly ordered it. Walmart also sells this unit on their website for the same price, and with free shipping; however I chose to be loyal, and purchase with Amazon. This Panda 70 is a medium to large Compact Portable Washing Machine, and is Fully Automatic. I did have some concerns about shipping, and other customers who reporting dents or dings on the exterior on arrival due to rough handling during shipping. I hoped that would not be my case (and it wasn't). The UPS truck pulled up to my house to deliver the unit. The driver did have a small dolly that he used to bring it to my door, but I found that it was not that heavy, and I could lift the box myself, with a bit of effort. Weight is about 80 lbs in the box. I got the machine inside my house and studied how to open the box. I was pleased to find that I did not have to cut the box open. There were also two cut outs in the cardboard for your hands on each side of the box. Additionally there were 4 plastic straps that needed to be cut. Then the "upper portion" of the box just lifts vertically straight up to uncover the machine, after the straps are removed. There were some heavy Styrofoam column reinforcements on each corner of the machine and are easily removed when the cover is lifted off. The bottom of the box is a very heavy Styrofoam base that the machine sits into. Then entire machine is covered in a large heavy mm. plastic bag covering. There is also grab handle on left side of the unit which can be used to lift the machine out of the base. The manual indicates if you tip the machine backward there are rollers to move the machine where you need it to go. I moved it to my master bathroom all by myself with a little effort. This might be more difficult for a female. (ask for help) un-boxed weight is 79 lbs.INSTALLATION OF MY PANDA 70SWR-GPSI reviewed the instructions and warnings, and proceeded to make the necessary connections which are all described in the unit manual, as well as the items to connect to water and electrical system. There are 2 hoses, one for hot, the other cold. Which is for a standard washing machine installation. Or if you live in an apartment or RV without standard connections, you can use just use ("one" hose which you connect to the Cold water side of the machine only.) Panda provides a screw on plug for the Hot water inlet if you only use the cold connection. This is so that you can use a metal chrome - quick connect (which also provided) if you wish to fill the machine using a kitchen or bathroom faucet. It took me about 15 minutes to make all the connections. One Item that was listed in the manual and is part of the installation was a plastic cover that goes on the bottom of the machine, and is fastened by one screw at the bottom "front" center. Initially I could not find this cover. I went back to the box and examined it again, and could not find the cover. Then I turned the box upside down and saw another Styrofoam topper which I did not remove, and which did not slide out of the box. So I had to reach in and pull the Styrofoam out of the upper part of the box, and there I found the bottom cover the manual had referenced underneath the Styrofoam. I installed this in 5 minutes. It just slides into place and is secured by one Phillip's screw, again at the bottom front of the machine. Panda, also suggests that you level the machine which does have leveling feet in the front and are adjustable by hand. So my last step was to level the machine on my ceramic tile floor. Panda warns not to set the machine on carpeting. It was slightly un-level in my case, and quickly adjusted. Installation Completed!STARTING THE MACHINESince yesterday 11/8/2017, I have run 3 loads of clothes. I never thought I would fall in love with a washing machine. This Machine performs amazing and is a better washing machine than I expected. It runs pretty quiet when it washes, and also when it spins, it is also fully digital, but no more complex than a manual button machine. It doesn't buzz like older model American machines, and when the Spin cycle is completed it beeps several times and shuts it self off. There is also a cycle count down timer. It also has an intelligent spin feature that spins up then pauses, then spins a little faster, then pauses, then spins faster still until it reaches full speed. The quality of this machine is very good. The main body of the washer is metal. The upper part of the machine is heavy durable plastic which makes it lighter weight.; however, dropping something heavy on it could do some cosmetic damage or might even crack it. It has a large "glass" viewing window in the top cover door so you can see the action going on inside the 2.1 cf. wash drum. It saves water, electricity, and gas. The Yearly Energy Cost is $17 when used with an electric water heater. The Yearly Energy Cost is $10 when used with a natural gas water heater. This is based on washing 6 loads a week which is the national average.DURING THE WASHINGThings to note:1. There was no leaking from either the quick connect or the cold water connection at the machine or from anywhere in from the Panda machine, including the water pump or drain tube. No evidence of leakage underneath or on the floor.2. All electrical sounds and valve switching was normal sounding.3. The wash drum water fill spout activated and stopped with no issues - (make sure you have the cold faucet turn-on at your sink, and turned off when the laundry is finished.4. All push buttons and digital displays/Led lights operated well, including the delay wash time display.5. The water pump performed well without any issues.6. Spin and Rinse cycle operated normally, and were quieter than larger American machines.7. The wash cycle timer count down was accurate.8. The draining of the wash load drum operated normally and had good water volume from the drain hose.INITIAL CONCLUSIONMy clothing came out very clean with each wash load. Panda recommends the use of (He - High Efficiency) powdered soap in the dispenser, however, the machine can use He Liquid soap just fine. Don't put Liquid soap in the soap dispenser however or the soap drips along the sidewall of the tub and is messy, and may not get rinsed away. You can just pour the liquid soap over the clothes in the tub with out any issue. With my wash loads with the cup on the detergent dispenser I used about 1/4 to 1/3 cup for smaller loads, and 1/2 to1/3 cup for larger loads.. Panda also recommends (not) overloading the 2.1 cf wash drum to the very top of the drum, however it can accept up to 15 lbs of clothing. This machine meets my needs perfectly. I can wash a weeks worth of clothes in about 1 load, and definitely split two weeks of clothes between 2 loads. Which includes 1 pair of Jeans, 2 pair of slacks, up to 3 T- or 4 long sleeve dress shirts. 3-4 underwear and about 4 pair of socks. 4-5 large bath towels should be fine. Again you don't want to overload the drum.Over all I'm very pleased with my outcome. This was an excellent purchase. If you need a new washing machine, don't even hesitate on the decision to buy the Panda. I plan to do another update review in 3 months and possibly a video.

Nice little washer
I bought the panda 2.0 cu FT version from amazon , ordered on a Tuesday morning and received it the following Monday using the free shipping option . It shipped UPS ground from LA Calif to IND so I am hoping that helps . That being said the machine arrived in perfect shape . No dents or dings I was surprised at the size as it is as tall as some of the most common full sized washers You would find in most appliance stores .37 inches tall x 21 inches wide x 23 inches deep at 85 LBS . The weight alone makes this not really a " portable" washer . And while it does have wheels . Their are only 2 wheels and You have to tilt the machine back to use them . Wheels were useless on My carpeted floor . If Your going to have to push this around I recommend getting a dolly that fits underneath the machine. Not a big deal to me because I have a small apt with washer/dryer hook ups so no big deal . I was a little disappointed because You can only use about 50% of the total basket space to wash clothes , because it will only fill the tub up with enough water to cover clothes filling up about half leaving basket space unused . But it does say in the manual that this is a high efficiency washer so I guess that is normal . I was able to fit a weeks worth of clothes , enough to fill a large laundry basket 3/4 of the way into one load . So this works for me just fine seeing it is just Me using the machine As to the value of the machine , a little pricey I have seen this machine go for 4oo but if You patient I have seen it go for 330. and at that price it is worth it . I am happy with the machine and would recommend it Ifor someone who wants a little smaller then a full sized unit and only have laundry for one or two people

Awesome washer. Better than some full size
This is an outstanding washing Machine...portable or full size. Quiet, spins clothes very very dry. Save a bunch on drying costs.I bought this unit for my girlfriend, 2.0 cubic size, she loves it and so do I. Was meant for just her condo. But we take while Rv and camping. We noticed because of being such a very efficient washing machine...we only use about a third of the detergent than normal.Took only about 20 minutes to unpack, setup, and start first load of laundry.Note: Make sure you take the time to follow the leveling, balancing procedure.Big bonus...this unit, 2.0 cubic foot, barely draws any power. My amp meter gauge should at it's peak...while on wash cycle, and a large load, Just 2.75 amps. :)so glad I bought this unit and not a large full size unit.Al

I love this machine
When my full size washer died I decided to get a smaller machine that we could keep in our pantry along with our apartment size dryer that we bought last year when our full size dryer died.I used to have to go down to our basement to do wash. Now I have everything all on one floor. I do have to roll it to the kitchen sink for now, but plan on having our plumber put the hook ups in our pantry.ProsIt's not a tiny machine. It holds almost a full size load. It's 24in by 24inIt was easy to installThe instruction booklet was easy to read.It has an awesome digital display control panel with six different washing options.Gets clothes super clean even on the quick wash cycle. It holds a lot of laundry.Great spin cycleConsIt arrived with a few dents on the side but maxchine works great. It's really heavy and hard to move. It only has two back wheels. I just ordered a dolly to go under it so I can move it with ease. The bottom cover didn't come with screws to attach it.The drain hose could be longer. I have to put the washer very close to my kitchen sink. The water hose has just began to leak a when the water is turned on full. I will have to try to figure out how this can be fixed. All in all! So far this is a great machine. I'll add on to this recview after I've used it for six months.

Great Washing Machine!
A really great washing machine!Forget any idea that this washing machine is a compromise because it described as 'portable'. It just is not, it' a really great washing machine that I strongly recommend.Delivery and packaging - was very good on Prime, the unit arrived without blemish and was very easy to unpack by myself. I do recommend an extra pair of hands but it can be done easily as long as you're reasonably fit and careful. If you have health issues - get a helper; you'll make a friend over this.Looks - are really nice, smart, and uncluttered unit. The control interface is not the bridge of a starship but the user manual (ALWAYS read the manual), has a really nice step by step guide. It's a top loader.. which I love.Setup - pretty simple (again, READ the manual). I did attach the plastic bottom plate, it just slides in and used the single screw provided (easy). I did not connect it to the tap/faucet but I'm fairly sure it will work just as well with standard connectors. You do get all the hoses and connectors you need (I used all the hoses I already had but they look useful and appropriate). Do yourself favour, you will need a roll of plumber's tape and make sure your connectors have rubber washers in them and are tightly secure... just standard stuff for all washers really. I took a couple of minutes to level the washer and the payoff is a smart, leak free stable washing machine. :)Operation - Works really well, plenty of programs and options. The tub is not tiny but you do need to make sure you don't overfill... but that's true of any washing machine. Speaking as a man who has work out, diy and work clothing; along with bedding etc. The capacity is totally great for a home machine. Bigger families may need a bigger machine, but until I find 'Mr Right', this is more than I will need. :) The footprint for this washer is really good, especially for smaller homes... but it's not tiny... If you want it to be 'portable' you'll need a stand with lockable wheels..Programs - Everything you'd expect from a standard modern washer. Wash times vary depending on what you want/have to do. Rinse and spin cycles are great, very quiet machine throughout the cycle... mine is sitting on tiles but I did not notice any excessive noise.. if anything it's a bit quieter than you expect. Items come out at the end pretty dry... very little drying time afterward.Value - Clean clothing, done well in a smart, intuitive washing machine! You may not know the 'Panda' brand (I know I did not prior to this), so if you worry about such things, take my advice... don't give it a second thought! This is a well built, amazing quality item. If you care about the label... go spend more money. :) This is not a 'cheap' unit but it is great value for money and a great machine to get you laundry done at home.I will update this if my experience changes but right now the Panda is Perfect!

WoW!?! I wouldn't have believed It Otherwise!...
Right now this product has knocked my socks off literally!...I was a bit skeptical of apartment washers and dryers from the get go due to terrible experiences and failing technologies of times past. but...this is completely different! First off, this washer came fast, as usual with Amazon. Properly packaged with all manuals and screws, hoses, adapter attachments, machine had styrofoam on all sides when removing from original box. I had area picked out and prepared basically the day before it arrived so install was fast and easy. Attachments was perfect size for cold water intake hose. The overflow hose was a little short for my setup so i purchased an extension at hardware store and used clamp to fasten, works like a charm (no leaks whatsoever). Finally to usage itself -> WOW! I have compared the laundry mat wash to my personal washer, I usually use double or triple loaders at laundromat, and i think this clean is just better!...I've even got very clean results even without the special pre-soaking i usually do for some ridiculous dirty clothes -> Love the results! Machine has a pre-soak option (awesome) plus gives the option for an extra rinse cycle which helps remove any soap or unwanteds from your clothing (my fav)...Last but not least - machine is so quiet for a washer...The only cycle i can hear from a distance is the spin cycle!...Make sure you set the little feet underneath if you don't use a wheel harness, and check it is balanced...This will keep the spin cycle as quiet as possible :))...5 Stars hands down -> Would recommend

Holds a tonne, does a good job, and fits in the closet. I love it!
I had been saving up for this purchase for awhile, and finally bit the bullet and purchased it 3 months ago and I have not regretted it for a moment!YOU WILL NEED TWO PEOPLE TO UNPACK IT! It comes sitting on some styrofoam with a plastic piece that holds the drum in place during shipping. I learned this the hard way as I live alone and figured I could do it on my own. Not so much! The washer itself is great. It's not as heavy as you'd expect but it still feels perfectly sturdy and high quality. It fits a lot in it - I've washed 2 queen sheets, 4 pillowcases and a small throw blanket in at one time and that was pretty much no issue. The spin cycle at the end does get everything incredibly dry as well, and the lint trap is extremely effective. The timing provided is a bit of a misnomer as it doesn't seem to count down while the drum is filling with water, so it does take a bit longer than you realize but it still feels reasonable to me. I live in a small one-bedroom apartment and I roll this from my front closet to the kitchen to use, and it's not possible for me to use my kitchen and the washing machine at the same time, and yet even when doing multiple loads I haven't found it to be an unreasonable amount of time.I highly recommend this washing machine for someone looking for that flavour of in-suite laundry but is a renter or lives in a space that wouldn't otherwise accommodate it.

Great washing machine, does the job as great as the mounted machine.
We love this product. It’s perfect for the apartment if there’s no other access to a real laundry machine. It handles very large loads perfectly. We do not have a water supply attached to it through the faucet as we have an aerator installed on the tip of the faucet. But from reading other people’s reviews, we fill up the machine with water manually with a bucket - and it works very well! The only reason we give this a 4 star is that on medium and small load settings the machine seems to be glitching and skips the rinse cycle. For large/bulky cycle the machine works well, it goes through wash cycle, drains soapy water, refills the machine with cold water for the 1st rinse, rinses it, drains the water, refills with cold water for the 2nd rinse cycle, and drains it for good, going in to spin cycle. However, for both medium/small and regular/quick loads the machine skips rinse cycle completely. So, basically, once the machine drains the soapy water out, it’s suppose to stop and fill up the water for a rinse cycle. But it doesn’t stop, the motor keeps running trying to pump the water out even when there’s none left, and the timer just keeps going, the water never fills up, and then it goes straight on to spin cycle. We had to stop the entire program both times, set it up purely for rinse and spin cycle, and go through double rinse separately. Which extended the time from total program time of 32 minutes to additional 27 minutes on top of it for the rinse. We figured that we will just wash all our loads on large/bulky, so the machine doesn’t skip the rinse cycle.Other than that - machine is amazing, washes everything pretty well!

This Panda is not a toy washing machine
I expected this to be more of a toy sized washing machine but it was way bigger than i was told in the comments. I also expected it to be all plastic yet it's mostly made of metal with a type of very durable plastic in parts that count. I took off the back panel to look inside and am impressed at how it all functions. There is nothing cheap about this design and can handle every load i tried. I read in the comments that it can do two queen sized thin bed sheets. I tried a full sized comforter /blanket with no issues. 6 full sizes towels. A pillow along with a small pet bed.26 pairs of underwear,12 pairs of socks, 5 bed sheet sets, a king sized nylon fur blanket, A two piece sofa bed cover, nothing has given the Panda any problems. Delivery came day after order and driver helped me get it up 16 stairs to my doorstep with free delivery. I hope this model of Panda does not sell out. This is very real washing machine with a real glass door and itspins your items almost dry. Very budget friendly for the bachelor life.
