Simple Houseware Laundry Bra Lingerie Mesh Wash Bags (1 X-Large, 2 Large and 2 Medium) - 5 Pack

After more than 7 months of weekly use, my initial set of these bags is still performing above and beyond my original satisfaction. So I have now purchased 2 more sets of these bags. I have washed them with items with hooks, I have used them with socks (keeps your pairs from getting lost), I have used them for swimsuits, I have used them with panty hose, I have used them for lightweight sweaters; everything I throw inside comes out of the wash untangled and in good shape. These bags themselves may get squished and a little balled up, but never have I had them entangled with something else. Also, nothing inside the bag every gets tangled on itself or snagged. I mean, they aren't magic bags, but I am always so surprised and pleased when I use these that it has made washing bras, strappy tanks and other delicates, well, easy. Plus, I have not yet had a single zipper failure of any kind, nor have any seams on the bags given out. The fine mesh has not developed a single hole anywhere. However, even though I occasionally put them in the dryer, 90% of the time I let them line dry. Perhaps that has helped prolong the wear on the bags.The only thing I wish was that I could order by the individual size. I have been getting the medium and large bag combo, and the large is really a bit bigger than I need for most of my items. But, all in all, that seems a small complaint.So, I still highly recommend these!***Original review:I hate having strappy tops and bras get tangled in the wash, or bound up on the agitator, and have struggled with "lingerie bags" that snag on hooks and zippers and still tangle. So, I have been using zipper pillowcases. Now those are getting hard to find that are not dust and bed bug proof. The fabric weave is so tight on these modern pillow covers that I am afraid the soap and dirt won't wash through. So I tried these mesh bags from SimpleHousewares. I got the 3 large and 3 medium pack. I have only used them once so far, but this is my impression:1. I am so far pleased with the type of mesh. It is very fine, so it is less likely that hooks will tangle in the mesh, but still is open enough to rise soap and dirt through easily. Right out of the bag it feels a little more substantial so I hope it will hold up to bra hooks and resist twisting up with other bags.2. The zippers are plastic, and if you close them all the way they tuck up under a flap. The flap seems sturdy right out of the package, but we will see over time how it holds up. I am a little concerned by other reviews that state the zippers have broken rather soon after purchase. However, I have been trying to find a "fool proof" lingerie bag for 20+ years, and no matter how much I've spent there seems to be either an eventual zipper failure or zipper snag. So, if these last a year I will consider them a bona fide success.3. For the first wash, I put one hook-less sports bra in each bag. I used all 3 medium and all 3 large, plus I used 2 extra zipper pillow covers I already have been using. The medium mesh bags seemed about the right size. The large bags were very big for these garments, but I didn't want to double up and have there be tangling of straps within the bag (I also find the pillow covers excessively big, but only put one garment in each bag). I ran the wash with warm water on the "regular" cycle in my top-load machine. Upon completion of the cycle there was absolutely no twisting up of garments or of bags. Each item came out of the washer as a single item. Nothing was bound up around the agitator. None of the zippers had come out from under the flap or failed after the first wash and the integrity of the mesh bags seemed to be as good as before washing.4. I always line dry my lingerie. However, the mesh bags and pillowcases I threw in the dryer on low heat. I left the large mesh bags unzipped and the medium I zipped, just to see how they would hold up. The medium bags stayed neatly tucked under the flaps, all the zippers worked fine after 30 minutes on low heat in the dryer. The integrity of the bags seemed fine, although the mesh did perhaps feel a little less stiff than before washing and drying.So, after one wash and dry cycle I am quite satisfied. It remains to be seen how well they hold up after multiple wash and dry cycles. Also, I have yet to wash any garments with hooks in the bags, so I haven't fully tested the strength of the mesh against snagging on hooks. However, I am pleased enough with their usefulness and performance in washing hook-less garments that I am going to purchase another set.As for the negative comments regarding failed zippers or other problems, I have not encountered these problems... yet. Maybe this company has a few consistency issues in their product quality, and I suppose there is always a few bad apples in every barrel. But as I have never, in 20 years, found anything that works better, and have wasted a lot of money on things that worked worse, I will give this product 5 stars initially. If they last at least 6 months, I will still feel they are worth at least 4 stars.

Variety of sizes and good quality

I have a lot of delicate clothes, so I'm actually back to order 3 more bags. Mesh can get damaged very easily, I would not recommend these bags for stuff with sharp edges (like dog toys, etc). For clothing these work really well, even in a top loader washing machine.To guarantee product longevity I'd recommend:*Making sure product does not appear damaged/used when it arrives.*Zip up clothing with zippers all the way, and fold fabric over a zipper, when placing in bag.*Tie clothing that has loose strings together, and fold fabric over the loose strings, when placing in bag.*Do not use these bags to wash heavy items (e.g. sneakers/shoes). This bag is not durable enough for that imho.*Do not put these bags in the dryer, let them air dry.*Pull zipper past the elastic, do not fold it in the elastic strip, unless you want the bag to open during the wash.These things aren't miracles, they are mesh, so even taking care of them the right way won't guarantee they'll remain useable. Overall I've never had a laundry bag last me more than 2 years, but I'd rather these things fall apart than my clothes.

3/4/20 I used these for the first time a couple days ago and they seemed to work perfectly. I had no issues with the zippers or with water not being able to permeate the mesh. I used them in an apartment complex's laundry room (where machines are perhaps not as gentle) and they survived both washer and dryer. I will say that the items I was washing were not heavily soiled (in fact, two were brand new out of packaging, I was just making sure they were fresh for my child's sensitive skin) so I don't know if that would have affected the outcome. If my experience changes after a few more uses, I will update this review.UPDATE: 3/18/20I used two of these bags a second time yesterday. My husband started the wash load and said he used hot water, but that's the only difference. I even used low heat in the dryer. One of the bags is fine and looks just like it did last time, but the other one looks worse. I'm not sure if it was rubbing too hard against something else in the wash or what, but you can see from the picture that it looks mildly pilled or stressed. I wouldn't say the bag is destroyed and I will try using it again, but it changes my view of the product. I had originally given it 5 stars, but have now removed one.

I've tried several different delicates wash bags, and this is the first that actually holds up in the wash! The fastening is intelligent and unlikely to catch on anything, the fabric is good and the seams seem well executed. I likely will be buying more.

Love these, the 'cage' structure inside really helps protect bras in the wash.

I use this product to launder my bras so they do not get stretched or tangled with other laundry items. The bag is large enough to hold 4 bras, the plastic frame top and bottom helps to keep the contents from getting squashed in the wash and the zipper tab cover (great feature) prevents the zipper from opening during the wash.

Good value

These mesh bags come with a varity of sizes and perfect for your delicates or anything else you’d like to separate from your general load. They’re a good quality and the zipper stayed shut in the laundry. Also while on vacation I used the large sized one as a laundry bag and it held up a large amount of clothes. And while breathable, masked most of my clothes from view when walking to the laundry room. Would buy again if I need more.

These are great, the variety of sizes are fantastic and the quality is great.

I have bought a number of laundry mesh bags over time and these are the best I've purchased. Other brands have had the zipper jam or break or the mesh has ripped. These are well made and continue to last.

Good selection of sizes and great quality

These seem well made, I have used them several times and they still look and feel brand new. I like that they store flattened and they are easy to dry (laying flat) after use. I was impressed with the size and how much will fit in each mesh bag. The only thing is you have to remember to slide the zippers into the protective covers that help keep the zipper shut. I have forgotten a few times and the bag has opened during the laundry cycle. Other than that, I would buy these again. Good design!
