100 yd length is convenient length for applying backing to my fly reel!
I have purchased 200 yd length and not that it is that important but hard to know when I've used up 100 yds of the spool, I just want the simplicity of not having to guess. I calculated the circumference of my spool and counted my reel turns but lose count after the first couple of hundred turns. LOL!!! Fly lines have become so expensive these days that I just want the ease of simplicity.
