Perfect upgrade to my 10/22 takedown!
Just what I was looking for! This is a game changer for my 10/22. Makes it much easier to carry when it’s out of the bag the rifle came with. Fits perfect! Looks great! I love the fact that you can carry three extra mags in the stock out of the way. Quality product that functions flawlessly. Looks to be very durable. Thanks for making these!

Lightweight, elegant and well-crafted
The weight of the replacement stock is wonderfully light, and with ammunition in the hollow stowage, it gives a sturdy feel. The main compartment itself holds either three full BX1 magazines or one full magazine and a 50rd box of 10/22 lr. There is another waterproof compartment under the grip, which although small, can hold something about the size of a Bic lighter securely. In the image shown, the stock cheek riser has been replaced with the optic-height riser (comes with kit), and the butt pad has been replaced with an enhanced one, adding 3/8" (sold seperately).Pros - Easy installation. Very ergonomic design. Lightweight. Customizable options (and easy to paint)Cons - Material is soft and very easy to scar (such as accidentally nicking it with a tool). Sling mount and rail accessories sold seperately. Swapping out the cheek riser can be frustrating unless you know the trick**The trick. Do NOT try to pry it off or pull it in some awkward way. Simply open it all the way, and then give it a little push more towards the reciever end and it should pop right off. Any other method risks marring the stock or breaking the hinge.

Perfect stock.
This stock is a perfect fit for the takedown target edition. Found the perfect hard case as well. Lycus HC-5011. Definitely a good idea to get the red dot mount that attaches to the barrel from magpul as well accuracy wise.

Stock required to maintain zero on 22 breakdown rifle.
If you own a Ruger 22 takedown then this stock is required. Why? Because it is the only way to accurately shoot the rifle.I have messed with my 22 takedown and lots of other people's and it is simply impossible to maintain a zero with the removable barrel - if you mount a sight on the picatinny rail. Over half of the rifles I've checked and tested the barrel is loose. Easy to test - just put the stock but on the ground and grab the front sight with one hand. With your second hand push and pull at the connection point of the breakdown. Is it loose? If the barrel is loose how can you expect to maintain a zero?I finally figured out a way to tighten the 22 takedown connection so there is almost no movement possible. Over-tighten the threaded sleeve and make connecting the barrel extremely difficult but twisting it on creates a super tight mount. But, after shooting tests I am still unable to maintain a repeatable zero. Good luck with these methods.... LOLSo the solution is the Magpul stock, because you can mount a small rail (X-22 Backpacker Optic Mount) under the front hand grip and on the barrel portion of the 22 breakdown. Once your sight attached to the barrel is zeroed you have a maintainable zero and accurate rifle. The other benefits of this breakdown stock are extra nice to have in addition to an accurate rifle. Other reviewers mention these benefits, so I will not repeat them. I added some Type 1 & 2 Quick Detach (QD) sockets to the two mounting points and added a QD sling to my rifle. All these additions add to the overall cost - which is a negative - but basing these capabilities on the foundation of an accurate rifle makes it worthwhile.PS: Based on some recommendations from experts out the range I'm using a red dot sight and it works great.

Easy setup, easy to breakdown
Easy peasy setup, but I wish it had some area for a m-loc pic rail on the front stock. The higher checkrest is a nice option, and the two storage areas are great!

BUY IT , LOVE IT , SHOOT IT !!
Had been looking for a good stock for my 10/22 takedown for a long time . But all the underfolders and sidefolders seemed a little too mall ninja for me . So I held off . I found this magpul backpacker that actually had multiple utility functions I could actually use !!I carry my takedown in a 5.11 Rush 72 pack . And prior to the magpul the forend and rear set would be in there but could get jostled around if you were banging around the woods. I have a Nikon BDC 150 .22lr scope on my takedown and it was always getting banged up by the barrel side . Did not like that . Now ? The barrel is afixed to the rear stock so it is no longer banging into the scope.I love the fact it comes with 2 cheek rests for scope/no scope. Very handy and you get a good cheek weld on the nikon .rear storage could not accomodate a 50rd box of Elay match due to its wider case mashing up against the partition channels. But did accomodate Remington thunderbolt cardboard box of 50.grip storage accomodates a bic lighter or leatherman micraAlso the flat dark earth is much darker than the stock photo and even customer pictures ( due to flash ? ) which I liked. The light tan stock photo made me wished I bought the OD green stock but when it got here it was a much darker shade of tan which I liked.Installation took 2 minutes with my leatherman Surge multi tool large flatheadI'm very happy with my new magpul takedown rifle :D

Great stock for my Ruger 10/22 Take-Down
The reason I only gave 4 stars is my need for a longer (LOP) length of pull. With original pad I think it is only 13". The Magpul pad that extends the pad only adds about 1/2". I could use a 14.5" LOP and I haven't found a solution for this stock from Magpul or another vendor so far.I do really like the functionality to store extra magazines in the stock.
