Powerful, Quiet, and Energy Efficient—Best Fan I’ve Owned
I picked up the Vornado 783DC, and it’s quickly become my favorite fan in the house. The airflow on this thing is seriously impressive—it easily moves air across an entire room and keeps everything feeling cooler without blasting you directly in the face like a cheaper fan. The variable speed control is also a huge plus; instead of just a few set levels, you can dial it in exactly where you want it, from whisper-quiet circulation to a strong, room-filling breeze. I also like that the height is adjustable, which makes it really versatile. I can set it lower for the living room or raise it higher if I want to move air above furniture. Even at higher speeds, it’s quieter than I expected for how much air it moves, and honestly it’s the quietest fan I’ve ever owned. Being a DC model, it’s also energy efficient, which gives me peace of mind since it runs for long stretches in the summer. Overall, it’s a powerful, versatile fan that’s built to last and does a far better job than any standard pedestal or box fan I’ve owned.

Full Featured Honest Review of Vornado Fan by JustJen
I recently purchased the Vornado Circulating Fan and I have been extremely impressed with its performance. Several pros make this fan stand out from others in the market. Firstly, the fan can circulate a large amount of air in a room without blowing it in a concentrated direction. This is perfect for those who want to cool down a room without feeling a strong gust of air on them. Additionally, the fan is very energy efficient, using only 60W at maximum power and less than 5W at the lowest power. This is a huge plus for me as I always try to be mindful of my energy consumption. Another pro of this fan is its sleek and modern design. The white finish blends well with my home decor and it does not look out of place. I also appreciate how lightweight and easy it is to transport around the house, making it convenient to use in any room. The fan is also well-built and sturdy, ensuring that it will last for years to come. However, there are a few cons to note. The fan can be quite noisy at maximum speed. However, I have found that it quickly drops to a lower sound level when not on max speed. Additionally, while the fan is great for circulating air, it does not blow a concentrated gust in one direction like a blower fan. Lastly, the price of this fan may be a bit steep for some at $165 + tax. There are other Vornado fans with similar performance at a lower cost. In conclusion, I purchased this fan specifically for its great air circulation and energy efficiency. The noise level is not a concern for me as it only runs for an hour at a time. The stylish design and energy efficiency were my top priorities and this fan has exceeded my expectations. I have been a fan of Vornado for years and this fan has only solidified my trust in their brand. I would highly recommend this fan to others, especially if energy efficiency is a priority.

Excellent Product
Ceiling fans are great. They are often all you need for a comfortable night's sleep and even when you do need to kick on the A/C they can reduce your need for it. But you can't necessarily put a ceiling fan everywhere you might want one. This is basically the next best thing. You put it in a corner, aim it at the ceiling and bam, you have the air circulating in even a very large room in much the same way as if you had a ceiling fan. I have this in a very large, 30 x 20 room and it does a good job creating a nice even air circulation throughout the entire room. The other thing I will use it for is to quickly cool down after I come in from working outside in the heat. If you point it at yourself directly it will cool you down quickly. But normally this thing is pushing so much air you don't really want it pointed directly at you. It is very well built, I've used it now for several years, pretty regularly all summer long and it has held up just fine. Only downsides: it is a bit noisier than a good quality ceiling fan because the blades are much smaller while pushing an equivalent amount of air, and I wish it were easier to take apart and clean. I wouldn't say the noise is a deal-breaker, but I typically run it on medium and not high.

Comparable to a floor fan
I've spent months agonizing over a new fan. None of the reviews gave me what I wanted, ok; this listings reviews were somewhat similar to what I was looking for so I took a chance. SO! What do I want? Well, I have a floor fan, a Stanley 20 inch (st-20f). We all know how amazing floor fans are, and I love my big yellow beast, but it is so loud. I enjoy a bit of white noise but we can't hear the TV or normal house noises over the Stanley on medium. So for power/air flow/cooling comparison, my Stanley on medium moves roughly 4500 cubic feet per minute. This fan is laughable at its 100 cfm. However, the design of the fan itself led me to believe it was worth a try. We have this pointed at our bed and our bed is in a corner, so it's prime location for the air disbursement illustrated in the ad. I had my doubts after setting it up and laying in bed with it on medium for a few minutes but decided to give it a shot overnight; My partner started with it on high and within an hour I was asked to turn it down because it was too chilly. We live in Florida lol So I turned it down to medium and it gave us a bundled up temperature for the rest of the night. It gave us a better cooling effect on medium, that the Stanley would give us on high. NOW for noise! I need a fan at night, regardless of situation, I need the white noise. But I hate how loud the floor fans are. I've never been able to find a quiet fan, that gives the same power as a floor fan. This fan, on medium, gives the same amount of noise as the Stanley does on it's low setting. Loud enough to satisfy the sleep needs, quiet enough to hear the TV, house noises, and conversation without having to raise our voices. For placement reference I attached photos of how the fan is positioned and a shot from behind the fan to our bed. It's a pretty big room, not giant, but larger than most. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone out there looking for a quiet fan without compromising on circulation/cooling power.

Very high quality circulator
This review is for the Vornado 783DC Circulator Fan, just putting that since there are multiple products on the page. This thing is pretty impressive. It has a very solid construction, and you can definitely feel how high quality it is. The fan housing is plastic, but it's a very thick, solid plastic. I really think you could throw this thing onto the ground, and it would just bounce; it's beefy. The knob on the back that controls the speed is smooth, so it's not like some fans where it "clicks" for power level 1, power level 2, etc. It is a smooth turning motion that revs up or slows down the fan, and as with the rest of the fan, it feels high quality. Performance-wise, it moves a surprising amount of air. You can turn it on and point it at any area of a room, and you will 100% feel the air circulating around you, even on a lower setting. I have used some circulators that don't work that well unless on max speeds, but that's not the case here. It is fairly quiet up to around 50% percent, but any higher and it does start to ramp up in volume. On max speed, it is incredibly loud, pretty much drowning out most sounds in a smaller room, so this could be a benefit if you plan on using it while sleeping for the white noise. One small complaint I had about it was the height. I had assumed it would be adjustable to be a bit taller, but at 38" tall, it's fairly short. It is adjustable, but only to make it shorter, pretty much down to a table fan height. You also cannot move it left and right, only tilt up and down, which I feel is a bit silly on a fan this price. Overall, I am sort of torn. I think it's a wonderful solid product, but at $189.99 at the time of purchase and review, I sort of feel it's possibly overpriced. It's a great product, but the price is fairly steep. Price aside, though, it's a very nice circulator fan with amazing energy efficiency!

A review from someone who uses this as a standard floor fan.
Okay first off, you probably should not use this as a regular pedestal fan. This fan moves more air than its 900+ cfm would suggest. The air coming from this fan (okay, air circulator) does not buffet, it's a steady stream of wind. Or, you could buy this for a very quiet low-energy fan for a living room or bedroom. As long as the power knob is under 75% or so, it does not make much noise. Above that however, it's what you'd expect from a fan running at its maximum speed. The knob is on the back of the fan, and is adjustable for as little or as much as you want from 0-100. No more 3 settings! With that out of the way, I love to have a breeze on me in bed and our old fan died on us. The bearings wore out on the old one so I was looking for a replacement. Besides the price, this fan looked like it would do everything I asked of it. It'll tolerate being run all day and all night due to the ball bearings, the power consumption is really low (a claimed 60W at full power, which I almost never use), and it's super quiet. More importantly, this fan produces a serious breeze. And the 10 year warranty is a huge plus, though I'd expect something like that given the asking price. So far, I've had this Vornado propped up on a box so it'll reach our bed (the standard height is about 40 inches, not enough for a pillowtop). This fan has been running more or less nonstop since we bought it about 8 months ago. Other than it could use a cleaning, it still functions just as perfectly as the day we got it. For that, I'd definitely give this model a recommendation. Fun fact: Vornado used to be some sort of turbine engine manufacturer, and this air circulator at times does sound like a (very quiet) jet engine. The only things I can nitpick on this fan are: 1) The power connector comes disconnected easily. Even a kitten could pull it out with no issue. 2) Even though this is an excellent fan, it might be a hard sell at that price. 3) The range of movement is limited, such that (at least mine) does not like to point up. Something probably just needs to be tightened slightly.

Powerful But Height Challenged
This review is for the Vornado 783DC full size floor fan. Like all Vornado fans, this one is powerful. No remote control and it doesn't oscillate but it tilts. The fan itself is 12". It has a variable speed dial and is reasonably quiet up to half speed. If you work from home, then 3/4 to full speed are too loud for Teams meetings. It's unusually short for a floor fan, 36" from the floor to the top of the fan housing and 22" from the floor to the bottom of the fan. I wouldn't consider the height "adjustable". It comes in 3 pieces and you can elect not to insert the center 12" tube. The metal tubing is held together by heavy duty bolts and is very sturdy and easy to assemble. It's pricey but I bought this model for the energy efficiency...we'll see how that works out when I get the June power bill. The 10 year warranty was also a big factor. I live in California's Central Valley and the fans stay on 24/7 from April/May through Oct/Nov...not exaggerating. Fingers crossed this model saves on the power bill. I have 3 Vornado fans ranging in age from 2 to 4 years old and they all work like new. As long as Vornado maintains their quality, then I won't even consider another brand.

Love Vornado
I have several of their fans but needed a big one for our living room. This beast hits the whole room. For reference our living room is 20wx40Lx10h. Creates great circulation and isn’t too loud for the size motor it’s for. Sturdy and well made.
