Just returned this today. I was trying to boil several containers to cleanse it before making tea to get the "new pot" taste out. It worked about three times then would not turn on again. I tried several times, it turned on sometimes but then not other times.Update: customer service e mailed me today that the kettle needs to rest between uses. As I have already returned it I cannot verify this.Perhaps this information should be in the instruction booklet. At any rate, I am changing from one star to three stars for quick customer service and to give the pot the benefit of the doubt.

Well, this would have been a 5 star review except I've only had this for 2 months and it already stopped working. We haven't moved it, we haven't dropped it, it's just been left on our coffee bar and today wouldn't work. The Kettle is just fine, but the heating mechanism crashed. Really disappointed.

I bought it for my office and I like its simple shape and the large capacity, suitable for my office. Since received I've used this twice a day (sometimes more) and I am SO HAPPY with it! Built very solidly, boils tea very fast, the auto-shutoff comes with a simple "ding" to let you know when it's done, and lastly the interior is all stainless steel which is a breeze to clean.Cleaning tips for stainless steel kettle users: sticks to seller's recommendation, to remove the water deposits with vinegar and that really works!!! Your kettle will look like new, hope you'll use that tip. Very pleased with everything to do with this item and service.

I really liked this product when it first arrived. Seemed to do all it said it would. Heated water fast...a bit noisy but not awful. And then, after just four months, it quit working. Worked fine one day, and then stopped working the next. When it first arrived, I was so impressed with the insert in the package describing the vision of this "young company". I've emailed them twice and no response. So disappointed. And, of course its too late to return it to Amazon.

The water boiled in this has a weird plasticky smell. At first I thought it may go away after a couple uses but NO, even though it's not as strong after a while, the smell remains. I guess I can put up with that considering it claims to be FDA certified.Then after about a month's use, this morning it just stopped working!!! I don't know what happened to it, it sat on the same corner in my kitchen the whole time, no crush, no burning, and I was using it yesterday. I've extremely disappointed!! I wish I could return it!I emailed their customer service asking about warranty and they never replied!!!

We've to get the "new" metallic/plastic taste out of water boiled in this kettle, but are unable to. We have soaked it 5 times in bicarbonate of soda, and boiled water in it about 40 times but the water is still undrinkable. Stariver contacted us and recommended we boil and soak it with loose leaf tea several times. We tried that now too. It did not work. We now just boil water in a pan until we can order another kettle that doesn't ruin the water.

I really liked this item at first and it heated water very fast. The bottom got rusty rather quickly and after about 6 months, it would not turn off by iteself. It would continue to get VERY hot even after water boiled. I threw it away becausee I was afraid it could start a fire, expecially if I forgot to turn it off.

Do not buy this product! I should’ve read the reviews before buying it. It makes the water taste disgusting no matter how much you clean and how much you boil different things in it, it still taste like metal and burning plastic I cannot imagine that’s good to be ingesting. I would never buy this again and do not recommend that anybody buys it. If I could give it zero stars I would.
