I replaced the 15 watt bulb for the 40 watt. What a difference. If you do that you will love this lamp forever. I bought a few levoit lamps for our home. The main room is 11 to 15 pounds that is the Aurora, Two Elana's for the bedroom. Absolutely my favorite lamps. I have a few other brands around our house, Levoit is definitely my favorite. My wife loves them as well, she infact told me about salt lamps to begin with. I looked into them and they are so beneficial to have for many reasons. It's time to get rid of those positive ions and bring in the negative ions with the salt lamp. In order for the lamp to produce negative ions you have to get it warm, the 15 watt bulb doesn't do that. There was a huge difference once I used the 40 watt bulbs. They make great Christmas gifts as well which I'm currently passing out. Make sure when you get this Himalayan salt lamp you get it with the gift box, I promise you will not regret it. Whether if it's for yourself or a family member it comes definitely well packaged and it's definitely very secure in shipping. Not to mention how fun it is to pull the lamps out of the gift box. If you notice when you get your stainless steel levoit lamp, Wich I highly recommend. You can easily unscrew the 4 screws and rotate the base very easily in case there's a certain side you particularly like better that you would like to have in front. Again I also highly recommend putting a 25 to a 40 watt light bulb in there and it is perfect!!! The one very big thing I noticed was my allergies went away. I have very bad seasonal allergies. I'm allergic to dust, dust mites, dogs and cats. Which we own and we love so much!! No allergies in the world could stop me from being an animal lover. However in the last 3 weeks I started purchasing Himalayan salt lamps after hearing all the positive things that could read about them. I decided to buy a few and place them all around the house. I realized Levoit is the best product and the others are in separate rooms that I hardly go in now. I put the two levoit Himalayan salt lamps in our bedroom, three days later after using the 40 watt light bulb all allergy symptoms went away. I haven't had to wake up to use my inhaler, I haven't had to take my Claritin D. I have been currently off all allergy medications for the last week. I strongly and highly suggest using the Levoit Himalayan salt lamp. I have to thank my wife for pushing me to look into purchasing Himalayan salt lamps. The dimmer switch is not at all hard to use, if you can work a smart phone you can easily work the switch. Levoit has definitely used a very high-quality switch. Levoit deserves the five stars. When it comes to salt lamps in the future, levoit is the only company I'll buy from. You can't go wrong with Levoit. They come with a 1 year warranty right out of the box with no extra charge. Why wouldn't you want to try it out? Trust me you will not regret this purchase!!

MAY 17, 2017....UPDATE TO PREVIOUS REVIEW SEEN BELOW.....I decided to keep the Levoit Elora salt lamp (and not give it as a gift), because I needed coverage for more areas in my home. It has been working great. I decided the benefits of the lamp far outweigh my disappointment in the size & weight of the "salt rock" as well as the color variations of same. Also, the customer service department for Levoit is GREAT. When they read my "disappointed" review, they offered a discount on any Levoit salt lamp.I now have the Levoit Aria and I am very pleased with it. I really like the dimmable light switch as well as the various sizes & colors of the individual "salt rocks" that go into the base of the lamp. You can arrange the rocks to your own preference. Also the bulb is easy to replace. I mentioned the benefits of the salt lamps...I have not needed to take allergy medication this season, for the first time in years. I credit the use of the salt lamps for that. The crystal salt ionizes the air and clears away allergens, etc. Hope this review helps.PREVIOUS REVIEW: To start: I have, and am using, 4 salt lamps before purchasing this one. I wanted the benefits of the salt lamps to cover more of my home. The salt lamps have helped my allergies tremendously and I feel sure there are many more benefits that are not as noticeable. I am also aware of the variations in color, etc. I was very disappointed in this lamp, for the price I paid, although I do not plan to return it. (too much trouble). It came in a very nice gift box, so I may give it as a gift.Pros: 1) It was packaged well. 2) The cord & dimmer are nice. 3) An extra bulb was included.Cons: 1) Levoit is stamped on the metal base and cannot be removed. 2) It's not as large as I anticipated (it is no larger, or heavier, than 2 others I purchased from Amazon for $18 each - this one was $58.99). 3) The color is so pale, it's almost white (not amber colored as the description reads nor anywhere near the pinkish color the photo shows). 4) More "crushed" looking spots than the other lamps I have. (the description states "less specks & spotting") 5) Less variations in color throughout.In summary: Compared to the salt lamps I have, I was very disappointed in this lamp, specially for the price. I was expecting a higher quality lamp, since it was 3 times what I paid for the others.

Beatiful

First the positives. The shape of the lamp is very nice and the light it gives made a nice difference to my room. Also the bag in which it arrived is very nice. There are only two things I did not like. The switch is too sensitive and for some time I needed to practice operating it. Also, the bulb in the lamp was broken and I had to replace it. I also don't think the lamp emits some healing smell I read about elsewhere. Solid four stars!

I received this lamp today only, but I already love it so much! I will be redoing my bedroom in the next few months and this is one of the purchases I made for it. Now, don’t count on using this as your main light source because even at its brightest, you couldn’t read with this. But for ambiance lighting and to help you wind down? Perfect!

The salt lamp is beautifully crafted. Where this product really outshines others is the cord and base. The base is a sleek looking stainless steel securely fitted to the salt crystal and the cord doesn't feel cheap or like it was an afterthought. The tap/touch control is modern, intuitive, and looks great. Also, they include 2 spare bulbs in the package. Very happy with my purchase (the lamp i received was 10 pounds).
