Purchased this following my purchase of a USB to HDMI adapter which disappointed becasue it was over twice the price of this one, yet had poor quality output. HDMI should be better quality of course, but it turns out that all of these adapters use the same Fresco Logic FL2000 converter chip inside them - and this chip only natively supports VGA. So any adapter you purchase which has an HDMI output is actually outputting VGA directly into a VGA to HDMI converter. In most cases, these converters are cheap and of poor quality; you're better off connecting a VGA adapter directly to the display and letting your display convert the signal. Whilst I know this isn't an option for some displays, for those that do have VGA inputs will have a much better image quality.With that out of the way, that also means this adapter has another trick up it's sleeve. Contrary to the page details, I can confirm that it *does* work on macOS! I originally bought the more expensive adapter on the merit that it would also work on my MacBook, but it turns out that all of these adapters use the same chipset as mentioned above, meaning that they all work on Windows and macOS.Summary - this adapter is perfect! Quality image output, much cheaper than the competition, and supports both Windows and Mac. The only downside is that you need a VGA input on your monitor to use it, but as mentioned above, I prefer this as it means my screen can process the image instead of the rubbish VGA to HDMI adapters that are inside the HDMI versions of this device. The quality simply isn't as good.

I use duel monitors on my Desktop PC but when I updated my PC the new PC didn't have a second VGA port or an HMDI port so I bought this USB 3.0 to VGA Adapter and it worked perfectly.

I purchased this device to connect a usb 3.0 or 2.0 laptop without a vga connection to a digital projector. The instructions warn that picture quality will be lower if a usb 2.0 port is used . So far I have not been able to test it with usb 3.0, but with usb 2.0 I found the picture quality unusable. Hopefully usb 3.0 will live up to the claims when I finally get the opportunity to try it. The device was easy to install with drivers included within the hardware.

Works OK. Pc to Tv

When I first tried this it didn't work. I assumed it was something to do with my screen, so just gave up. Then one day some months later I decided to try it again. I found that actually my screen was fine, but that the adapter was just really crap! You have to jiggle it around for ages until its in the right postition, then it works but if you let go it stops working again. TOTAL rubbish!

I needed a USB3 to VGA adapter that uses the FL2k chipset. This arrived promptly, was well packaged and the instructions were clear. It works well and is good value for money so I'm happy to recommend it.
