The BMW Motorrad Navigator VI is the ultimate GPS system designed to enhance your riding experience with precision navigation, advanced connectivity, and an easy-to-use interface. Built for adventure and touring enthusiasts, this premium device provides seamless route planning, real-time traffic updates, and robust weather data to keep you informed on the road. Review: Nice upgrade - The Seller shipped it super fast given the current situation with COVID-19. The GPS works as expected and is an improvement over the Navigator V. The screen is much easier to see when the sun is blasting right on it for one thing. It seems they learned a few lessons from the Navi V and improved them in the Navi VI. Review: Waste of money - This GPS is most frustrating. Other than updating the clock on the motorcycle, it's virtually useless. Yes, it fits nicely in the dash on the RT, but the motorcycle came with a decorative cover which is almost as useful. My three major complaints are: 1) it's very slow to calculate routes. A minute or so to do so. When I press Start, I expect to be on the gas and going immediately. This unit is slow as Christmas so I often get to a point where I need to turn before it's finished calculating and I have to sit or guess which way to turn. Obviously use this in areas I'm unfamiliar with. But if I was familiar with the area, I wouldn't be using GPS. 2) It has no awareness of traffic conditions or road construction. This thing will happily navigate me through roads that are closed by construction and heavy traffic adding painfully slow progress to my trip. Sitting in stop and go traffic or having to follow detours which are often slow sucks with any vehicle, but more so on a motorcycle. 3) Inputting and then trying to follow a track/route via Basecamp is a pill. I would get a lot of way points but trying to follow an actual track/route was not easy or intuitive. Plus, Basecamp has the look and feel of a program from the 90's; it doesn't feel like a well-refined program. I sent this back after one trip and got a cell phone holder for the motorcycle and use Google Maps instead which eliminated all of these complaints. The cell phone mount cost far less, too.

Great Nav Device for my 2014 BMW GSA
Garmin and BMW did really well with this partnership. I have only used this for one day, but I'm already impressed. The device is seamlessly integrated with the bike, and the controls are very intelligent. I'm removing my phone mount, as the device gives me what I need when riding. The traffic and live sharing options are also cool, I'm excited to test those features.

Fantastic, and too expensive
Love mine. Just wish I had paid like half as much for it. Works great on my 2015 R1200GS.

Navigator VI
Navigator VI accepted Garmin update and went on a 2020 BMW R1250RT. It didn't want to power up with motorcycle start. Tried various motorcycle configuration settings, and it appears to be working nominally. The display is difficult to see in bright light. The Navigator V was far superior in bright sunlight.

don't waste your money
This unit is a waste. Sends you random places. Hard to use. It eventually failed and started blinking. BMW was great to take it back, but the fix is to keep replacing it with a new unit. They know this is a crappy unit but are not fixing the issues. When you send it back Garmin will send you another. When that one dies, they will send you another.

Just…. No. Don’t do it.
I bought this for my 2014 R1200GS. It worked for about 3 months, then the screen started glitching. I spent probably 20-30 minutes searching various BMW forums and Facepage groups and realized this is a common issue with this navigator. Too bad, because it shows vehicle dynamics / engine information. BMW builds a great bike! Their choice to use this as their navigation is really dumb. It really is an absolute letdown.

This is probably too technology advanced for a tech challenged individual such as myself. However I managed to convince myself to purchase the latest GPS with all the bells and whistles. It seems that it wasn't all that long ago that I was using the marvelous technology that preceeded GPS, something called MAPS. They weren't quite as user friendly and I was constantly riding off the selected map no matter how I folded it. GPS has yet to be installed on the bike as it is winter where I am so GPS performance will have to wait to be rated sometime next year!
