I had a problem with small birds perching on the sill above my door and defecating all over my the landing. I tried one of those realistic owls but the birds just laughed. I purchased the spikes and placed them on the sill using double sided tape. They fit like they were made for the space. About 3:00 am the next morning I heard a "thump" on the door where the bird tried to land and fell off. Bird was not hurt, just mad because they could not perch and crap all over the place. Not had an issue since the spikers were installed!!!

They worked perfectly to keep birds from damaging the trim on my porch. I lined them up on the porch against the baseboard trim and the birds stopped pulling splinters of wood from the trim. I bought the white ones, which are translucent, and I hardly notice them against the white trim.

The product was easy to put up. It was easy to cut at the bend with scissors. The only problem was that the doves we tried to deter ended up making their nest in the tiny space left right on top of the spikes. We thought they wouldn’t be able to fit in there but they were very determined doves. I ended up buying square wire that I cut to size and stapled to the beams. That stopped them perfectly. The spikes will work except if the birds are extremely determined doves like the ones we have.

This product worked on keeping some very stubborn birds from building nests on my front porch. Best of all, they don’t look too bad like some bird deterrent products do.

I can't say how well this item will disrupt the birds under my dock roof because I just put them up today. But I did find a flaw with them that you should know about. These strips are 18" long and divided into 4 segments for easy cutting to a smaller size. I put them on rounded pipes with zip ties. What I found is that if you try to break off one of the end segments, the strip will break in the middle. If you try to zip tie it in the middle, it will break the strip in half. The center indentation is extremely weak. And you can't zip tie the strips anywhere else but at the segments because the prongs are in the way. So, when you break it, you have to zip tie it to the small strip left behind on each side of the break. I didn't have any issues with the outer two indentations. They held together well. But the center one is brittle. If you pick it up by one end, it will bend and if you let it bend too far, it will break. There is no reason why the center should be less sturdy than the sides. But it is.

These should fit great on top of my Mom’s white porch columns to keep birds from nesting. Being white, they won’t be noticeable at all and the price is very reasonable. They’re sturdy and quite spiky so no birds perching on these that’s foresure. Just a few screws to secure them and we’ll be set. I’ll definitely be ordering more for the sheds on our shop.

I bought these to put in the 2X4's in our carport for our RV. The birds continued to place weed, straw and what ever else they could find to build their nests. While their were less nests, the birds decided to take out their revenge by pooping more on top of the RV than they had before. My husband was not able to go up on the RV to get the nests down so we did have 1 nest that had eggs hatch. I guess its better than 3 or 4 nests.
