This product was for my 8 year old son, whom was interested in trying his hand at ventriloquism. The doll is a nice size and fits easily on a included plastic case with zipper. My son seems to enjoy showing off the doll and his amateur ventriloquist skills. I thought that the doll was priced reasonably and good quality.

He's a great doll for my son! He is good size & just what he expected in a ventriloquist doll! He works perfect & everything is good about him. The only thing, which isn't a huge deal but his shoes don't stay on. We just have to keep the clear rubber bands on the. Other than that, he's the proud owner of Charlie!!

Very easy to use and so cute

Nicely painted. Solid accessories. Easy mouth control with the string. The hat, eye monocle, and shoes fit well. Overall, it's a solid product. The doll isn't as good as other upgraded versions that have the ball and socket neck. The main reason is that the upgraded dummies are more lifelike and geared toward traditional ventriloquism whereas these basic dummies are a little limp. This is especially difficult when trying to have the dummy sit on your hand or lap when performing. However, for a toy or collectable, it's great fun and definitely has the best deal on the web.

This thing is pretty cool and reminds me of the villain Baroq from Raiders of the Lost Ark. The only thing that stinks is it is not a standard dummy control where you put your hand up the back and a little trigger on the pole controls the turning of the head and mouth. That's how al of these old school dummies / puppets worked. This one has a very awkward string that is difficult at best to use, but hey, this item is $40 when real authentic ones can go for hundreds.

Hi Rob, Sorry for the delay in this review. Charlie arrived on time at our house in the woods here on the Suwannee River. Turns out though that Charlie is more of a city boy, and he immediately ran away. (I think the coyotes howling in the woods scared him) We had not seen him in over a month and we started to get real worried. Then our granddaughter in Charleston SC called to say he had shown up there. They hit it off right away, and hang out together when ever she's not in school. He told her he has a PHD so he doesn't need to attend school any more. They became bff's before she realized he was famous. When she visited recently, we showed her some old film clips of Charlie and Edgar and she's even more excited to get to know him. She says she'll bring him with her the next time she visits and she'll update this review then. I hope she remembers, she's only 12. :)
