Get ready for more work! (Not in a bad way)
This thing works better than expected, especially for the price. Used this for 1acre full lawn renovation and it made a huge difference. Easy to use (once assembled) and held up nicely. Will see how it holds up in the long run. It does however require some patience, time, and handiness to get it all assembled properly. Other than that, get ready for some cleanup after putting it to use!

Great performance, just needs patience to set up
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Great performance, just needs patience to set up I’m really pleased with this dethatcher—it works efficiently across my large yard, pulling out a ton of thatch and leaving neat rows. Once I ran it through, my lawn immediately looked healthier and more aerated. A few things to note: Assembly took some time—it’s not overly complicated, but you’ll want to set aside a couple of hours. Luckily, there’s a helpful YouTube video from Brinly that walks through each step, making the process much smoother. After it was put together, it hitched up easily to my lawn tractor, and the 48‑inch width made quick work of the job. The spring-steel tines flex perfectly, and the inline wheels helped it track evenly. If you’re okay with a bit of assembly time and follow the video for guidance, this dethatcher is a solid pick—durable, efficient, and a great value.

ASSEMBLY IS A PAIN *** UPDATED TO 4 STARS ****
UPDATE. . . .Put this thing to work today and it works great. It still gets 4 stars for the assembly. Was able to thatch 2 acre yards with an ATV in about an hour. . . . . This thing is a nightmare to assemble. For only about 10 pieces (tines excluded), this thing is poorly designed. I am an intermediate handy guy (weekend warrior) with every tool on the face of the planet and this took me 2 hours + to assemble. Pay real close attention to the diagram when installing the tines. I put them in all backward. You will be able to tell if when you have installed the back row and you are covering up an assembly hole (for a different piece). Height adjustment is a pain in the butt as well. Need to make sure your somewhat level on the top adjustment and then on the sides. Difficult for one person. Suggest using a block of wood to prop the unit up before tightening. After the assembly nightmare, I did hook it up to my ATV and took one swipe in the yard and it does appear to work well. To be fair to the seller, I will update this review if this thing works like diamonds on my yard, but that will be in the fall. . . .

Performs As Advertized
The product will perform great on pure thatch, but when trying to remove a heavy lay of creeping charlie other measures and conditions must exist. First my yard should had been treated with a post-emergent herbicide and I couldn't do it this summer because of an injury. Tried a backup strategy this fall with the Brinly DT to remove as much creeping charlie as possible. Yard was soaked with irrigation and two days of heavy rain so the extensive creeping connections to the soil could be overcome as much as possible. It took a myriad of passes of 1.25 acres to remove approximately 70% of the weed. Not perfect results but with loading an 80lb bag of drainage rock on the Brinly DT, and pulling it with my zero turn for 8 hours through muck and mire bodes well for the robust nature of the dethatcher. A very tough product!

Very good homeowner dethatcher
Easy to assemble, great picture directions. Took me a couple of hours and I took my time. Well constructed. I used a single cinder block that sits nicely in the middle of the unit. Did a fantastic job dethatching my lawn behind my riding mower. Mower was still very easy to turn sharp. Works particularly well on pulling up moss.

Missing parts…
For the price, I expected better performance than the cheaper product but I was wrong. It would have earned a 4 or 3 stars if it weren’t for the missing parts (bolts and washers.) it was frustrating having to go to the hardware store to purchase parts that I have already purchased.

Glad I bought this!! Easy to assemble and use
It was pretty easy to put together and I pulled it with my cub cadet ZTR 50. From just doing a small part of my yard (see pic with pink area circled) I picked up a ton of dead grass (See pick of sweeper hopper). I did make several passes going different directions and going slow, but definitely worth the cost of the dethatcher and new sweeper than paying $1200 to a pro to power rake my acreage once a year! I am a single woman fyi, so if I can do it, anyone can lol 😁

Strong
Great product to behind your lawnmower or tractor to detach your lawn. One piece of advice, way down the back of it with a brick.
