Sargent Art 66-2012 12-Count White Dustless Chalk

As an educator teaching primary children I have never been thrilled with Expo boards where little hands can get a hold of markers and write on my walls. Chalkboards are what I learned on and what I prefer. However, finding good quality chalk nowadays is quite the feat! I have frequented all types of different chalks. They were either too dusty, too breakable or didn't leave a distinct mark on the board, more of a faded line. After a couple of frustrating years trying to find one that actually writes well on a board I bought a box of Crayola Chalks. Crayola is a great brand for paints and crayons but they miss their mark with their chalk. It doesn't write well on the board at all. It squeaks, skips, and breaks very easily. Sargent Art was my last hope. It met all of my expectations. It is dustless, wonderful to write with (it practically glides from my fingers), the marks are thick and bright and doesn't break easily. It also wipes away from my board with great ease. Most other chalks take a few strong wipes to even start to vanish. This time let go of the name brand and trust Sargent Art. You won't be disappointed!

I didn't realize how hard it had become to find White Chalk until I needed. I look many places and it seemed noone carried it anymore. This was a great deal. Yes a couple pieces where broke but truthfully I can't remember the last time i bought chalk in a store and every piece was perfect. I will be buying this again when i run out.

I don’t use these for their traditional use. I use these for marking metal. As chalk goes these give nice and bold lines. They stay visible in extreme heat so lines can be followed. They write very smoothly on the medium I use them. They are a bit brittle so they break easily but that’s fine for my use. Will buy again when I need more.

I have been buying this chalk (both the box of colored and the box of white) for 3 years now through Amazon, a few times a year for our homeschool chalkboard. I have never received a box of broken chalk, they are always in perfect condition when they arrive. While really not dustless (at all) I love how smoothly the chalk works and how cleanly it comes off with an eraser. It's also always a great price!

Purchased the chalk along with FolkArt 2543 8-Ounce Chalkboard Paint, Purple so I would have it on hand to condition the table I'm converting (I ordered it in the midst of Hurricane Sandy so I didn't know how soon I'd be able to get to a store). It's just OK. It's soft enough to write on colored construction paper without dragging and scratching. My only issues are that it breaks very easily and there does seem to be a bit of dust. I'm sure you could find better priced chalk (IKEA, for instance, sells it for less than $2) but, if you must order chalk from Amazon, it's not too bad.

My school used this brand for years. Ran out and tried another brand, but they are too grainy. I thought I'd go back to the this brand, but their formula has changed -- to grainy, does NOT write well on the board, and does not erase well. And almost all the pieces were broken when the box arrived. Very difficult to write with a 1 inch piece of chalk. I do NOT recommend.

Been searching for a while for decent chalk, and no one in my town seems to carry in (or I'm really bad at looking for it!) I found some Sargent Art colored chalks at Hobby Lobby and was so pleased with them that I ordered the Sargent Art White Chalk.This stuff is great. Nice pigmentation, soft and easy to draw with. None of my chalkboards are actual slate, but rather paint over wood/metal. That didn't seem to have a negative impact.Someone in another review said that these were hard and scratchy - the outside of the chalk is, so you'll want to sharpen or rub off the outer layer before use. Speaking of sharpening these sharpen we'll with a little patience. So pleased!

My mother gave me an old wooden chalkboard to hang in the kitchen that says 'Scene de Provence - Lavande, Olivier, Ail'. I assume that has something to do with France and food. Anyways, because the chalkboard is so darn cute, I hung it up by the side door and I have started writing what is for dinner on this nightly with this chalk. This chalk writes well. It is on the harder side as far as chalks go. This is good for writing in cursive - the stick maintains a sharp edge as you write. I use a wet paper towel to wipe off the board when I am done. Nothing annoys me more than chalk dust from erasers. I am happy with this purchase and at this point, I probably have enough chalk to write for a year. Thanks!

Cabe aclarar que los gises puede que no lleguen en buen estado, en cuanto a que varios llegan partidos pero eso no resta la condición del producto. La calidad de los gises es mucho mejor que muchos gises de marcas más comerciales, además de que son antipolvo, tienen una muy buena durabilidad.A pesar del precio, creo que son una excelente opción de compra en Amazon.Muy recomendable.

El producto es bueno. Marca de fabricación Koreana. Pintan bien, son anti polvo en las manos y lo mejor, no venían rotos en la caja, pero la realidad es que son muy caros acá en amazon. En méxico te valdría lo mismo comprar unos crayola que valen menos, pero me gustó probar estos.

Los gises pintan bien y no dejan mucho polvo, si los comparamos con los gises crayola son mucho mejores, pero estan lejos de la calidad de unos Hagoromo.
