Exactly What I Needed
Excellent, relevant, up to date information on all things cancer. Easy and enjoyable to read. I'm finishing up a PSM in Biotechnology degree and am interning for a company researching and producing cancer vaccines. The updated section on immunotherapy was a great addition. Overall this book gives me the important information I need with references to other sources for further study.

Diagrams add great clarity. Before each chapter is a useful summary
Well organized. Diagrams add great clarity. Before each chapter is a useful summary. After each chapter there is a series of bullet points that summarize the main points covered. The book successfully introduces a large subject with many complex issues.

A good book but not written in a way that make readers interested
This book introduces you to basic knowledge in molecular cancer biology, and the summary for each chapter wraps up information nicely. However, I sometimes felt bored when reading it. Some diagrams are confusing and take time to understand.

The best textbook I've ever read

Brilliant. The first time a textbook delivered what it promised.
As a clinician of 6 years starting a PhD in paediatric brain tumours, I found this book to be absolutely brilliant. It describes the underlying mechanisms of cancer in a clear and concise manner. I found it easy to read and very accessible particularly if your background knowledge is rather limited. I cannot recommend it highly enough - a great broad and relevant introduction to cancer research. The focus on where new molecular therapies fit into the underlying molecular and cell biology is a real bonus. Additional plus points for the "further reading" list which highlights key research papers, the "pause and think" boxes which make you do exactly that and the "how do we know this" boxes which describe the science that led to specific discoveries. Also, very affordable - worth every penny.

Fab book
I started reading this book in my final year of Sixth Form and it is fantastic - it is a challenging step up from A Levels but the content is explained very well with extremely helpful diagrams. It's also very interesting, and lays the ground work in a large variety of areas vital to molecular biology, before going into more detail about their relevance in cancer. These groundworks will be very helpful when I begin a Biochemistry degree next year

Unbelievably good
They don't always make textbooks so well, you know. Funny thing is, now reading the fourth edition, I know much of it is obsolete. But the basics are the same, so it's totally worth the one yen (used, plus shipping, etc.) price tag!

Good text !
Good textbook for know the cancer's mechanisms and to understand the basical features of the pathology. This is not a kind of 'bible' (like Weinberg's "The biology of cancer"), but is a sharp view about knowledge on cancer.Good both for students and professionals.
