Hobby Knife Blades Set 0.1mm 0.2mm 0.4mm 0.6mm 0.8mm 1.0mm 2.0mm with Handle Hobby Building Tools Craft Set for Basic Model Building, Cutting, Repairing and Fixing

I had several small 3d printed parts with internal supports I was trying to remove from a space about 1mm wide and 5mm deep. I had removed those supports from one print with my previous tools (1/4" chisel, xacto knife, needle nose pliers, flush cutters, a lot of swearing) but I'd nearly cut myself several times and I'd marred some of the printed surfaces with my efforts. I ordered this tool set because I figured the different blade widths and angle of the tips would be good at chiseling out these obnoxiously small parts with a great deal more delicacy than my current tools. When I received the tool, I installed the 1mm blade and within moments I'd cleared out the tiny supports cleanly.

I had been using small, cheap screwdrivers until I purchased this item. The small blades fit nicely in between the supports and printed item and are strong enough to do light to medium prying to get the supports off. I now keep it on my desk to use when cleaning up my prints.Would recommend to everyone.

Initial warning:. if you do not have the special tools and skill to sharpen xacto blades back to factory sharpness, this is a hard pass for you. these are rough and unusable out of the package. more below.I used these to carve channels in 3d prints for inlays,etc. they are... fine. the handle is cheap but functional. it would have been nice to have a finger tightenable set screw but the grub screw is... fine.The blades are fragile and covered in mill scale. they are packaged badly, several were chipped out of the box. luckily with a amazon replacement i was able to piece together two damaged sets into a whole one.if you buy these be prepared to:* spend a few hours of grinding the surfaces flat and smooth.* be able to grind a chisel edge at near microscopic scale. set of jeweler's loupes recomended.* prepare a extremely fine grit strop. you will need to refesh the edge frequently. this could be an issue with the metal hardness, but i think its just a function of the small scale of edges. any harder and im afraid they will shatter like glass.* build a better case to store chisels. they flop around and get damaged in the case it comes in.so in closing,. if you do not understand any of the terms or procedures i have mentioned so far you should not consider buying these. you will just hurt yourself. If you are able and willing to put the effort in these can be made intoma quite unique and useful tool.(sorry for no caps,. my computer decided i didn't need a shift key this week. or something. i will try to edit this whem i get a real keyboard again. )

I purchased this tool to scrape paint from glue joints on plastic models. It works GREAT for models, the different width blades fit in the joining joints really we.

Handle should be longer.

Poor quality of finish on the blades. They don't cut/scribe cleanly. Overall cheaply made. The price is low, and that is reflected in the level of quality of tool that you receive. Spend the extra money and purchase from a more reputable dealer.
