Dirt Devil Simpli Stik Plus 3-in-1 Vacuum Cleaner, Lightweight, Bagless, Ideal for Dorms, Apartments and Other Small Spaces, Corded Vacuum Cleaners for Home Use

This vacuum is light, easy to use and works great on tiles or hardwood floors. I would not recommend it for vacuuming carpet, as it does not have the suction power to clean most carpets. I removed all the carpet in my house and replaced it with Vinyl Plank flooring. I already had some hardwood floors as well. The vacuum I previously used for my carpets (Kirby), is too heavy and will scratch my new Luxury Vinyl flooring. It was difficult to sweep up the cat hair with a broom or the soft padded sweeper that I got with the flooring because the cat hair would just fly around in the air. I felt like I was just chasing cat hair all around with a broom. It seemed like it took forever to sweep all the floors in my house. I inherited this same model of Dirt Devil from my mom, so I tried using it with the new flooring, and it worked perfectly. I had been using it for over a year and the latch holding the dirt container broke. I think my mom had it for at least 5 years before me. When it broke, I looked to replace it and bought a Eureka stick vacuum that was slightly cheaper but had a swivel head that I thought would be easier to use. It sounded like a good idea, but when I used it to vacuum under the dining room table and chairs, trying to turn the vacuum head to fit between the chair legs was nearly impossible. The handle would swivel, but not the vacuum head, so I could not steer it where I wanted it to go. I sent returned it and ordered the Dirt Devil and I couldn't be happier. I vacuum twice a week to get up the cat hair and other dirt on the floor and I clean the filter every time because it picks up so much cat hair. I can vacuum all the floors in less than a quarter of the time it took to sweep all the floors, and it cleans much better than sweeping.

I love this vacuum cleaner because it is a 2 in 1 corded stick. A regular and removable hand vacuum cleaner. It is great on hard floors,and is very light to carry around. It is easy to use in the car, because of the removable hand vacuum. It is not a big or very powerful vacuum, but it gets the job done, especially on the hard floors.

Noisy, and it works great, but don't expect to get the baseboard duster shown in the product photos, it is not included.

This is perfect for my rug in my dining room, saves me the trouble of dragging out my big vacuum cleaner. Does a great job, has a long cord to go farther if I want to. Is lightweight and easy to operate and empty the dirt contents. It is compact but powerful.

This ‘plus’ model is poorly designed, flumsy and far less versatile the the far-better-engineered original model. Even the power cord is stiff and less-adaptable for the cord holder. Suction and edge suction is poor and unlike the original model is intended only for floors, eliminating carpet cleaning. The connection to the floor tool is rectangular, unlike the universal round connecion of the original design which would allow for the use of standard vacuum crevice tools.Unfortunately I don’t think I can give the current ‘PLUS’ model ZERO stars (so needed to give it 1-star).This vacuum is fairly useless compared to my prior Simpli Stik. That model sold for under $50, but includes the ‘crevice’ tool (attached to the handle, and accepted any other crevice tool with a standard connection. It had great suction on carpets AND floors, and its electrical cord was more flexible and fit the handle nicely. The original was amazingly well-engineered; the ‘Plus’ version is junk.After 5-10 years of use, the on-off switch failed. A reasonable shelf-life. I’d gladly purchase that original model if I can find it today.

That it has a belt to power the brush the belt is about the size of a eighth inch wide rubber band doesn't stay on

So far quite pleased. Hardy, light weight, seems strong ( good pickup). Was a replacement with the first one, broken clip on dust container. So as long as that last, holds up.

I am very pleased with this sweeper. It's light and picks up well.
