A great breeze from a small footprint.
We discovered this in the condo we rented on St. Thomas and were impressed. I looked it up and read some not glowing reviews. The discovered a friend had one and she liked it. So we bought one. It replaced an oscillating pedestal fan. While there was nothing wrong with the pedestal, this one is much quieter and does a good job cooling us down and takes less floor space. I have no regrets.

Great fan, cool air flow and multiple speeds.
Works extremely good, cools better than most other fans. Something about the air is cooler. It has several wind speeds and is pretty quiet. I love the fact it has a remote control. The size is perfect for any room, and fan can even be used on a timer.

A nice ventilation solution for most situations. Fairly quiet and very easy to place.
Lots of words have been written regarding the different types of fans: the newer tower fans, like this Honeywell HYF260 or the traditional round multi-blade fans we grew up with. As much as I prefer a traditional large floor fan, there are plenty of times when that's not an option because of limited space or noise. This Honeywell Tower is a great solution for this type of situation. The white version allows it to blend with most corners and included remote control allows for convenient setting adjustments to suit your needs. It's pretty quiet for the first couple of settings but definitely lets its presence be known when you're at maximum speed. Not horribly so to where you can't hear yourself think - but definitely it can be heard in the room. Depending on the ambient temperature, the tower definitely keeps our un air-conditioned social area comfortable with 10 people in the room. Like most reviews, things are relative depending on your expectations: it's not an AC unit so we did not expect some mystic transformation. However, it's a compact and unobtrusive fan that definitely makes most rooms more comfortable when it's on. A good value and worth considering.

It's a workhorse!
I have had a lifelong obsession with fans. I've always been hot-natured, plus the airflow and white noise are soothing for my anxiety. I have used this fan at least 8 hours every day for 5-1/2 years, and it is still blowing strong! I have used all kinds of box and oscillating fans, which can move a lot of air, but are bulky and usually loud. This tower fan is great for small spaces, and the sound is very pleasing and consistent for sleep with no rattles or whining. My only small complaint is that it is really hard to take it apart for cleaning - so this may not be a good fan for someone with severe allergies, especially if they have reduced mobility or dexterity. Wikihow has some decent directions, but not entirely accurate, and it is a real booger to get the casing apart! There are 7 screws in the back - 4 Phillips and 3 star-shaped. The back half of the casing clips into the front half (which is probably why the fan is so quiet - it doesn't depend on just the screws to stay together). Someone with large hands might be able to squeeze the back half to release the clips, but I couldn't. The only way I could separate the two parts was to lay the fan on its side with the seam facing up and gently press with my knee from the back half toward the front half. I did this 2-3 times down each side to pop the clips individually. Then there are 3 Phillips screws inside holding the blade cylinder in place. I gave the cylinder a good scrub in the sink with a skinny brush intended for cleaning drinking straws. I put a towel on the floor under the fan itself and cleaned it with Dawn Powerwash and a 1" brush, taking care not to get the motor wet. It turned out great and was easy to put back together. I'm sure at some point I will break those clips during disassembly, but I'm fully prepared to buy another one of these fans when the time comes!

Life changing!
I don't think I'll ever be able to sleep without this fan again. First of all, its sleek design makes it easy to fit anywhere in your room without it looking bulky or out of place. It has different settings from low to high, including a white noise setting so not only does it keep you cool but drowns out any other noises. It's oscillating feature makes it easy to access every inch of the room it's in. I keep it pretty close to my bed so typically the low setting is enough to keep me cool throughout the night. I was surprised at the exceptional quality received for the price I paid. I never used to sleep with a fan and now I don't think I'll be able to sleep without it.

So happy with this purchase!
This fan was extremely easy to assemble - I used a screwdriver and my hands. There were just a few steps that took me less than 10 minutes to complete. Once assembled, the fan worked SO WELL! There are 5 speed settings, a button for swivel, a button for a timer, a button for the power, and a button for the speed. We don't use the remote since we leave this fan on 24/7. We keep this on when we sleep and use the 3rd sleep option. This is just loud enough for my spouse who likes the fan sound for sleeping, but not so loud that it bothers me when I sleep with silicone earwax (spouse snores and I'm a light sleeper). The lights on the top of the fan turn off after about 5-10 seconds - this was a setting from out of the box. I don't care to change this, especially since I don't like sleeping with any visible light in the room. When we need to cool down from a workout, we put it on the top speed and it quickly cools us down. This top speed is very loud, so we don't use it when watching TV. During the day, we keep this on the lowest or 2nd to lowest setting since we aren't in the bedroom much. It keeps the airflow (apartment with no ceiling fan) going for our dogs. When watching TV, the 3 lowest speeds aren't too loud (sits next to TV). I wanted this in black, but didn't mind paying less for the white model. The white is a matte white that is very pure in color. If you are still reading and are still hesitating on purchasing this fan, this is your sign to get this fan. It's awesome. You won't regret your purchase.

Worked better after fixing it... but... over time will develop serious noise.
For something touting quite and silence... it really isn't. I read the other reviews, even by those claiming to be sensitive to noise. They must not know what noise is, or already live in a noisy area to drown out the fan ;) This fan, I would rate... moderate on noise* (see edit below). It certainly is much quieter than a BOX fan, or any of those round oscillating fans of yesteryear... but when comparing this tower fan design with other tower fans (like from lasko, a prior one I had which sadly failed after 12 years and they dont make the model anymore...-grumble-)... this fan is only as quiet on its lowest of low settings. The lowest setting barely moves air, but it is workable if placed 6-8 feet away (of course the closer it gets, the more you would hear it, so its a delicate balance). As for features... decent. I've seen much worse in remote-controlled fans. This one has a nice built in holder which is nice, very nice actually. The buttons are easy push, and responsive. Not huge toggles or buttons made for kindergartener adults like most appliances seem to trend these days. Not a fan of the weird and ugly 'base stand'. But... oh well. * The original noise of this fan was annoying as heck. It has a vibration to it (bad motor design) and the wiring inside is poorly routed, so that the vibration would cause the wiring to clack endlessly against the plastic housing. After shaking the thing many times to get it to shut up, only for it to get click/clack/ticking again a few minutes later... I cracked the thing open and found the issue. Inside, the wires that run from the bottom up to the top controls, goes in a plastic channel without any tie down, glue, padding, or otherwise. So they basically dangle and any motion of the fan causes them to tap the sides. Boo hiss, bad engineer! Half a penny per unit and you could have easily added a 'felt strip' down that channel to silent the wiring. Which is what I ended up doing, put it all back together, and now no more vibration noise and clacking. Runs quieter (still not whisper quiet, but thats just due to the motor and airflow design issues). *EDIT* The fan has developed a hissing grind in its bearings. There are two bearings on the shaft, and they have begun to 'hiss' (which is another sign of poor material used). I added some bearing grease, didn't help. The bearings used are just junk, and will develop a bad noise over time and use. I'm really sorry I bought this fan now, its garbage all around and how many times I've had to open it up to try and fix the issues that are just due to poor quality materials and design (nothing a warranty would cover obviously)... I could have MADE a new fan myself. *EDIT FINAL* This thing is now louder than a 20 year old BOX fan I have in the garage. It is so annoying, I have to pay someone to take it off my hands. Never buying Honeywell fans ever again. Just pure garabge.

Reliable fan I'd buy again
Purchased to replace a similar but older model. I'm impressed with the improvements made to this version. It's light weight and easy to operate. The controls on this unit are located near the bottom (the older version I had was at the top). It cools efficiently and quietly, although the top setting is a little more audible (but who cares). It does work very well in cooling a bedroom that has a PC and a PS4. The price is reasonable for what you get, in my opinion. I haven't used the remote because I don't usually need to change the fan speed. I like how sleek it looks, and so far it's rather durable.
