Ikea's Ledare LED Bulb 1213R4 4.5 Watt E 17

I know this bulb is somewhat expensive. I have two lamps which take this bulb, and this bulb only. My bulb in my first lamp is still going strong after seven years.

Although the number is the same the bulb is a bit different. It has 2 more light spots in it and it is brighter then the original bulbs. Its impossible to locate the original bulb so they charge over $ 10.00 for it.

Great while it lasted, but it burned out in 11 months. I used it in my office which had the light on for about 14 hrs/day. 14 hrs/day * 11 mos = 4,684 hours which is just under 19% of the advertised 25,000 hour life expectancy. The life expectancy of a US citizen is about 79 years. If we lasted as long as this IKEA LED, we'd all have died just before our 15th birthday. That is not acceptable.

Cute little light bulb! People should learn more about lighting standards. Don't buy a 2-seater sports-car then complain later about how you can't fit your entire family of rugrats in!Total light output is measured in lumens. Know how much your existing bulbs are putting and figure if you need more, the same or less output. These put out 200 LUMENS, no more, no less.There are three main bulb sockets in use, E12 is tiny night-light size, but is limited in output. E26 is the big bulb most of us are familiar with, but is a little large and bulky. The E17 size is perfect for small lights like desk-lamps and night-stands. You can now find this size at Home Depot, OSH, True Value Hardware, etc. The magic word to remember is "E17". Saying, "it's a small light bulb" to the pimply yout working at those places won't get you anywhere.Overall, design is well done with aluminium body for heat-dissipation. While LED is more efficient than CFL and incandescent lighting, it still generates quite a lot of heat, so don't try to touch this bulb immediately after turning it off.Lifespan is much longer than those types, so I'm retrofitting all my hard-to-reach locations that require ladders with LED bulbs so I won't have darkness at important times.Overall, an awesome value.

They are exclusive light bulbs for a specific lamp I purchased for my granddaughter's dorm. They work!

The bulb gives off a nice soft light that is very easy to read by. The only drawback to these bulbs is having to buy a specialty base lamp for my Light fixture. These bulbs are very expensive compared to standard bulbs with a 27 base
