Sony NPFV100A Rechargeable Battery Pack (Black)

This is the real deal! A genuine Sony FPFV100A battery pack in a properly marked blister pack. I am using this battery on my Sony AX700 Camcorder and it is providing the extended standby and recording times I was needing. We do a lot of waiting around with the cameras on standby so needed a battery that has a long run time. This is the largest battery we can get and when the viewfinder is in the straight-back position, the rubber eye cup does get bent by the battery, but we use the viewfinders with the upward tilt, so that's not a problem, but the battery does stick way out the back. We wanted all cameras to have the same battery for ronin balancing that doesn't require re-calibration. I am very happy with this battery and would recommend it without hesitation. Immediately noticed a time duration difference comparing an older (moving parts) camcorder to a digital camcorder with few moving parts. I immediately noticed that I had 4 hours of recording time! WOW!! 4 HOURS!! Camcorder I am using: SONY FDR-AX53/B 4K The NPFV100A is a battery, and it works! But, it's a good feeling knowing I won't be missing anything because of a low-charged battery. 95% of my recording lasts only 30-40 minutes.

The battery last for a very long time and I don't have to worry about charging it very often.

The price, of this, is too high, but then again; you get what you pay for! Not one knock-off, out there, comes close...in battery life. Your call...

This battery is expensive compared to the off branded ones but it is reliably long lasting.

I bought two of these in June of 2015. One for $75 after tax, and one for $60 after tax. I returned the more expensive one at the time. I've been using this battery about 10-20 times a year for 10 years and it's still working as of August of 2025. I've never had any issue and I feel like I got my moneys worth out of it. The original battery that came with the camera (HDR-SR11) I think I bought in 2010, and that battery just became defective after 15 years and now dies after a few minutes when showing a full charge. ok. Hopefully I will get 5 more years out of the ones I bought in 2015 based on that. So the durability and performance is great on these batteries. However, I'm deducting 1 star for the current pricing now of $170 (AUGUST 2025) which is ridiculous. At least some of that is NOT the fault of the company...15% at a minimum is due to the current tariff impact as there is currently a (very stupid) 15% tariff on Japanese imports. And if we assume the importing company has to make margin on the money they invest in paying import tax, not just pass it straight through (because they likely have capital costs), then we can reasonable estimate that 30% of the price may be due to tariffs. If that is so, the current price would be $119 with tariffs. But that is still DOUBLE what it cost just 10 years ago, and that is way too much increase. And so on VALUE, I have to reduce the rating and I'm tempted to reduce it 2 stars but based on the quality I'll just do a 1 star reduction for the poor value today. I'm about to replace the original battery that finally failed. And I'll have to go with an aftermarket version of this battery. Those are $25 or TWO for $35 vs $170 for this same size. Probably not going to last as long but I can buy 7 of the aftermarket units for the price of one of these. UPDATE NOV 2025 I came back to look at this, and the price has now gone from $170 in AUGUST to $219 before tax in NOVEMBER. That is MORE THAN 4x the before tax price of $53 I paid in 2015. I understand it going up, but not 400%. It's a bleeping battery. And while the sony version is better than the cheap aftermarkets, you can buy an aftermarket for around $12. I mean come on. Deducting another star for LOW VALUE.

Needed a longer battery which my pxwx70 could communicate the actual battery life from. This is a legit Sony battery.
