Good Material for DIY Grow Space
I have a growing area in my garage & was looking for something to kind of insulate as well as be reflective and be easy to handle. This film/sheeting had the properties I was looking for: 1) at least 6 mil thick (.006), 2) diamond pattern reflective surface on one side 3) easy to work with when wrapping over PVC frame. I would have preferred a black backing vs white but that was not an option. The material is thick enough not to tear though not as thick as a pre-made grow tent. It does try to 'kink' a little when lifting or folding if the whole length isn't lifted up at the same time though the 'kinks' do smooth out once it's straightened correctly. The material is very easy to cut. I haven't put any holes in it so can't say how well they would hold against ripping. Once unrolled for a bit, the curl (from being on a roll) straightened out & the material hangs nicely. All in all, this is pretty robust material for a DIY growing tent. Personally, I think a pre-made grow tent is worth it as the material is thicker, it's fully sealed and has zippered openings & vents. The cost isn't that much more. However, I needed something taller than 6.5' which is the height of most tents.

Easy to work with, highly reflective, looks nice even as a wallpaper, increases lighting
When setting up the second grow room in my basement for my larger floor plants, I did the research to find out the most reflective surface for the walls of my grow room. This room had plastered walls with a stucco finish that collected dust and dirt. In my research, I found the options for wall covering and reflective qualities to be white flat paint, white gloss paint, flat (thin) Mylar, and diamond cut Mylar. Of these options, the diamond cut Mylar had the best reflective qualities and was the best for consistent reflection. The room to be covered is approximately 20" X 16", so I bought the 100' roll. This has been a "learn as you go" experience, but we can hang a panel in about 15 minutes or less now using staples to hold it to the wall. To hang on a wall quickly, put the roll on the floor, pull up the end to the ceiling. make sure it's hanging straight, and staple it at the ceiling. When you are sure it is hanging straight, cut it at the bottom using a metal ruler and a box cutter. Staple it at the bottom making sure it is taut and straight and then on the sides. I wasn't sure how much we would need when I bought the 100' roll, but it's enough to cover the walls in the entire room.As for the smell reported by a couple reviews, there is absolutely no smell on the roll I received. This Mylar is highly reflective as plants I have placed away from the light canopy are growing well. Having covered the stucco walls in this room with this Mylar, it looks like a shiny, light grey wallpaper that is very attractive and also very functional for my plants. The front of this Mylar is very reflective and the backing, although not cloth, is a plastic feeling material not much different than some of the lined. light-blocking curtains available. I don't think it would be machine washable, but this Mylar could easily be made into light-blocking curtains. It is flexible and hangs very well. If you plan to make holes at the top of panels, it would be best to use grommets so the weight of the material does not tear the holes. I am very happy with this Mylar for my purpose, but I'm sure it would be useful for so many other applications.UPDATE 07/09/20:I have had this Mylar installed in my plant grow room for a little over a month, and the plants seem to be doing better. My avocado trees aren't under lights, but are growing and doing very well with only the reflected lighting.UPDATE 7/15/21:I have had this Mylar installed on the walls of my grow room for over a year, and I still love it. It has held up very well and is impervious to water. Every now and then, it has been splashed with water when I was watering, and the water just ran off. A few times the water left watermarks after the water dried, and I just wiped them off with a moist paper towel. This Mylar still looks every bit as nice as the day we installed it. It was definitely a worthwhile investment.I hope this review was helpful for you, and I will update the review if my opinion changes.

Tough stuff
This is the best high reflective liner I have ever seen, thick, lightproof, highly reflective and tough as nails.

Thick & attractive & white-backed!!
Disclaimer: I have not used a light meter to test it’s effectiveness. My newest hobby is Kratky hydroponics ( not pot, but salad-type leafy greens and cooking herbs). Surprisingly, the grow lights hurt my spouse’s eyes… But my spouse is sensitive to all kinds of things so perhaps that’s not so surprising. So instead of proudly showing off my grow to hours to myself and all my guests, I need to 😕 block the light. As long as I’m doing that, I might as well help the plants! So I bought this thick mylar sheeting. I attached it to a drapery rod via shower curtain hangers and, to make it look pretty on the outside, and also to celebrate My hydroponic hobby, I fronted it with shower curtains with green plant art. The mylar being backed by white (Unlike the black of grow tents) Is a huge part of why I picked this product. It’s in my main guest entertainment area and, unlike a secret pot farm in the basement, looks are therefore important. The shower curtain is wider than this roll so I used one for width and an extra 23 inches (2 strips). I haven’t attach them together but may if it seems called for later. The thickness of this material leads me to believe that it will last pretty well for quite a while. I the thickness, however, was a bit hard to use a hole punch with… My whole punch lost its effectiveness after the first 10 punches Making the final 14 punch is very difficult. (24 because I’m setting up my 2nd grow tower.)So far, I am super happy with my combination of materials, thir effectiveness, and their appearance.I did notice a little bit of fragrance which seems to have dissipated after a few hours of being in a windows-opened room.Four stars is my top rating until I gain more data which leads me to add or decrease a star.
