it rocks, great bargain
I got the talman tmb100 in tfb in the mail yesterday... It was set up nice and intonation was perfect.. I raised the action by taking out the truss just an 1/8 of a turn and wow this thing rocks... the pickups are a little weak. mainly the jazz pickup it has lower output than the P pickup but works well in the blend middle setting I did a sound test video... the body is a three piece mahogany and looks good with the grain all going the same way in the tfb.... and I love the tort pickguard!!! the neck is nice and chunky and comfortable not a thin weird neck like on some basses... the strings are a good quality taperwound I think they are elixir I don't know if there coated tho... Nice bass, my other bass a Ibanez btb 6 string. I own a 3/4 double bass also but I was looking to fill my void of I nice 4 string with a low price tag and I found it!!!

Decent enough, Major setup required
Tried out this bass in guitar center before ordering. Plays well, but required more setup work than any other bass I've ever bought. Just be perpaired to pay a luther to set it up for you. Which usually runs $60-$120. Or I recommend just buying from a music store and asking them to set it up for you. Price wise its a decent bass, squire is the better option though. Squires just sound better, have a better warranty and play a little better. I will say the bridge and hardware is better on the ibanez and its still $100 cheaper. The tuners I'd like to point out have a really low ratio making adjustments kinda annoying. My bass took a lot off adjustments to the trust rod, and barrels to get it playable. I also had to polish the frets and tight the screws holding the bridge to the body. My nut also needed filing on the d string because the slot was too tight. To be clear even more expensive instruments can still have these issues and any guitar is going to need setup before hand.Came package well and no damage.

A decent bass, but beware QC issues, especially on knobs
I purchased this bass aware that it might come with one or two loose volume/tone knobs, as noted by other reviewers.Sure enough, mine had one knob not just loose, but not even fastened in place — the lower knob was missing a nut and washer. There is NO WAY this shipped without someone noticing it; it was that obvious. First, how do you put your name on an instrument with known issues like this, and not correct the problem? Secondly, how could you do a QC check and pass the rest of the guitar, and not notice that the knob rattles around every time you move the guitar, much less not notice the flaw when you check the knobs? In which case it seems the company is knowingly shipping flawed products ...That said, it's not a difficult fix if you are somewhat mechanically inclined and can find the correct hardware. There are even tutorials online.Could I have sent it back? Yes, but the hassle and wait and probability I'd just get another one with a similar problem were not worth it. (I probably should have just made the longish-drive to a music store and bought a bass in a brick and mortar. I recently saw several used basses that were of better quality available cheaper.)The Talman also needed some adjustments out of the box, as the pickups were set so high the strings buzzed no matter how lightly they were touched.Otherwise, it sounds and looks decent. Will update if things change.
