Order the hose I specified in my description to save a ton of time.
This is a high quality torch and matches the Seivert even takes the same copper tip attachments from seivert. Also I searched for days to find the German fitting ordering 6or 7 and still they were all incorrect until I found this hose which threads right on. Wish someone had posted this when I was looking to use this torch instead of overpaying for the regular brands sold in the US. So far So good.
2023-08-06 Update:I raised my rating to 5 stars. There is quite a lot of effort to get this type of soldering iron working effectively so the minor issue of the hose acquisition sort of moves down the list. I made up a zinc chloride home brew flux including some ammonium chloride and HCL, added a dish of tip cleaner which is needed to keep the tip well tinned and in that process also filed the forging flashing to clean up the tip.I cut off one of the 3/8" fittings on the hose and used the 1/4" NA standard LH gas fitting that came with my propane regulator. After that the torch worked beautifully. It takes a few minutes to heat up then more time to clean and tin the tip but once hot delivers tons of controlled heat to sheet metal joints. My first attempts were with corroded galvanized sheet and although I couldn't get a very smooth tinned surface I was able to achieve good structural and water tight joints. I then moved on and repaired an old watering can all using lead free plumbing solder although I tried some lead/tin bar I had around on early samples. In any case the torch is fantastic.---- original ----I've seen complaints about the gas hose. It's CFH 52123 as an example and it is a 3/8" LH thread gas fitting. The gender is reversed from US 1/4" lh gas fittings I have seen also.CFH support answered my question quickly by email using google translate from English to German I got the part number and discovered the hose was economical to buy logging into Amazon.de using my Amazon.com credentials. It arrived fairly quickly to Canada although I ordered the soldering iron to my US address.I'll try to post a review update when it's running. So far I like the look of the soldering iron but I have not pressed it into use.

Great solder iron but problematic European fitting
The soldering iron works great, and heats copper joints well. It's a bit like icing a cake. But the fitting is European. So I bought the reduction fitting (amazon.de) in an attempt to connect the German soldering iron to a USA purchased propane hose. The fitting was made as advertised and delivered promptly: left hand female thread to left hand male thread reduction fitting. The larger female threads connect properly to the soldering iron.Connector Transition Female 3/8 Inch Left x Male Thread 1/4 Inch Left Reducer Gas Adapter Brass for Gas Hose 1/4 Gas Stove Brand: Phönix GermanyUnfortunately it did not work, since the male threads did not match to my USA hose fitting. So, I needed to cut both hoses and splice with a piece of 1/4" copper pipe and four hose clamps. Not a pretty solution, but it works.

Works great!
Soldering copper gutters, this works great. If you can’t/don’t want to buy the hose, the fitting is pretty easy to get to adapt it. The thread is G3/8 left hand ( it’s British standard parallel pipe thread) and I got one with a 5/16 hose barb for 12 bucks shipped on ebay

don’t waste the $50 doesn’t come with hose and connection is not standard size you’ll spend much time looking for part.

Doesn't come with the hose - any help?
The iron requires an unusual LH thread metric connection that I can't seem to find stateside.
