Hot Tools Professional Braid Sealer Model 1180

I just received this today and I was excited to try it out so I gave it a test on my Senegalese twist that I had previously sealed by dipping in hot water. i was a little worried that this device wasn't going to get hot enough or work but the sealer gave it a nice blunt cut sealing the twist and cutting away the excess. I didn't give it five stars because you can't clean the nozzles while hot without burning your hand since this doesn't open up that wide and once the device cools the debris left will harden making it harder to clean. Other than that it does what it's suppose to. I'm happy with this purchase

The professional braid sealer works good. It seals my ends good and it's quicker and easier to use.

I gave this product two stars because it's easy to use. But...this product makes my ends crispy and makes my twists/braids stick together, leaving a fresh style frizzy two days after you've just spent several hours putting them in! My burnt ends also snag on my sweaters and wool scarves, leaving me with multi-colored lent on my ends...not cute and embarrassing! No wonder everyone at work was looking at my ends! Before I bought this, I used my ceramic flat iron and got pretty much the same results. The only reason I bought this was because the YouTube reviews were great.

Overall, great product. I haven't had any issues with it. I've only used it once, so I won't know for sure until I install braids again. Until then, and basing it off my initial use, I am very happy with how well this product performs.

it is awesome. everytime i do my hair I seal the end with this sealer and they don't come out after a week or two. but the ends do open up after the second week but you can seal it again. Love this sealer, will buy it for my cousins in DR.

This does a great job of sealing the ends of my twists, however, I realize I don't like the burnt hair smell or the feeling of the burned ends against my skin and my clothes. My twists kept sticking to each other like velcro. I used it once, but probably won't use again.

this device would have been a huge help if it had actually worked the way it was supposed to. there was ZERO quality checking done before it went out the door. the plates that actually seal the braid and take off the ends don't touch when you squeeze the handle. umm that's kinda how the whole thing works, so no plates coming together, no sealed and cut ends. there is almost a quarter inch gap between the plates @ the open end of the sealer. i wish i could post a pic. i gave it 2 stars because this is a great idea but someone needs to make a better quality product. sadly i will be returning this one.

It took 9 days to receive the much anticipated braid sealer, only to discover it didn't work; the braid sealer stand was broken, the sealer itself seem to be very fragile and poorly constructed. Even worse, It had to be shipped back at my expense!! Still waiting for a refund. Nothing but a bunch of wasted time and money.
