Ogilvie Precisely Right Perm: for Color-Treated Thin or Delicate Hair

My mom likes to have her baby fine white hair permed. This perm worked great. Didn’t burn her scalp and curled her hair nicely. Delivery was fast.

Male with about 6 inches of hair grown out.I used small perm rods and went with the 18-20 minute processing time then rinsed, dried, neutralized. Holy smokes did my hair come out curly.Note that I used to bleach and tone my hair but have not for the past few months while growing it out. Nothing melted or fell off during the perm process! After 48+ hours I went ahead and applied my usual teal color conditioner and went about the recommended washing/conditioning process for permed/curly hair.Really love the outcome and will do it again in 3-5 months with larger perm rods for looser waves.

Leave it up long enough if you have fine, hard to curl hair. I did not leave mine up long enough, and I did not get much curl.

I bought two boxes. One for my sons mullet and one for myself. I have gotten perms my whole life by my mother. Never have I had a perm not turn out. I always make sure I'm not on my period and to not use conditioning shampoo. My son and I have totally different hair therfore I knew the results may be different. I wish I didn't throw the box away because I bet both boxes were expired because both my son and my perm did not turn out. All it did was damage our hair! I am so upset over $30 for a perm that fried our hair and left no curls at all!! Extremely upset! What a waste of money and time!

I had no discomfort with the solution, i.e. no burning or itching. I followed the instructions to the T and the perm came out beautifully. This is the first one that makes my hair fall in nice curls and spirals. I will definitely purchase again when it's time for a refresher perm.Update: I just have to say it again...I am SO THRILLED with this perm. It looks and feels amazing. I had nobody to help roll my hair so that took a while. I rolled my hair in a spiral manner and it was all worth it. I have thin, fine hair and with this perm, this CURLS (yes curls not frizz) one would NEVER GUESS. I am simply in love with this product. Please do yourself a favor and buy it (please follow the instrustions and you can't go wrong). Have your bestie come over, pull out a bottle of wine and have fun.

I noticed other reviews mentioned no results and that is the same problem I had. I followed directions, definitely had no damage but I had no perm either. I have permed my own hair but not with this product.
