Exciting adventure
Great to read the back story to Wolfes life. Great read alone or in context with the whole Gabriel Wolfe series. Recommended for any fans of Reacher, Tom Keeler, Ben Hope and all the other dark heroes out there. Only negative, and this is with all of them, what has happened to proof reading. Many mistakes in all of them, many different authors, all seem to be having the same problem, very annoying. Heyho, loving the stories though.

Good reaf
Another page turner from Andy Madmen. Having read all the Gabril Wolfe series thought I would give this a go and found it to be very good. Look forward to reading more.

Bring on the series of Wei Mei
Loved the story. Obviously, a lot of research went into this book, and it shows. Andy Maslen has created another character. I am looking forward to the next chapter.

#MUSTREAD
Brilllllllllliant is the best way I can describe Purity Kills, Andy’s first thriller about Gabriel’s kid sister Tara. Now for any new readers of Andy’s work, there is just one thing I want to point out to you to save any confusion and that is that this book is a Tara Wolfe thriller (as stated on the front cover), even though the main character in the story goes by the name Wei Mei, for they are one and the same. You see Tara was kidnapped by a group of Hong Kong triads and secretly smuggled to the mainland when she was a baby, hence the name change. As for as she’s concerned she has always been known as Wei Mei, for she knows nothing whatsoever about her brief life as Tara Wolfe. Now any reader that’s read the Gabriel Wolfe series of books (and for anyone that hasn’t, I highly recommend them) then you’ll have come across Wei Mei/Tara already but they don’t explain any anything about her early life after she was kidnapped.Well fear not for this beautifully written story tells us all about Wei Mei’s young life growing up in a rural village with Mummy Rita, until the day she’s forced to run away to the city of Shenzhen, after armed men turn up at her village looking for her. Will she ever see Mummy Rita again? Then begins a hard time for her during which she must learn quickly how to survive on the streets of Shenzhen but once again the direction of her young life changes after she has no other option than to defend herself against three rich kids, with disastrous consequences, for which she finds herself in a jail cell, from where she’s recruited into the Communist Party school for assassins, where as the name suggests she’s trained to become a assassin.Whilst there she makes friends with another young boy and girl called Rats and Sis.Now the training they do is brutal and though Mei hates it, she has no choice but to go along with, that is until the events of one disastrous training exercise, which will eventually rip their friendship apart and leave Mei no option but to try and escape or suffer the serious consequences. If you’ve read my review this far, thank you.I hope it’s peaked your interest enough for you to read the book, which like me will leave you wanting to read more, also why not tryout some of Andy’s other books.Happy reading.

good read perhaps revealing too much here..
Heart tugging, but kept me up til 3 am reading. Mei, the primary in the book is admirable as a determined, strong young girl. She’s smart and knows what she wants. Having read the other Gabriel books I was disappointed in what she “remembered” as an infant….BUT A GOOD BOOK NONETHELESS.

Purity Kills: Where it all starts!
Purity Kills is a good prequal that provides the details of how Tara Wolf became who she is. Since i like the Gabriel Wolf series her back ground is key to both story lines. I am interested in seeing where this story line goes. The book is eazy to read and is fast paced with a good story line. It will be interesting to see who will be after her!

Excellent series opener
I'm a big fan of Andy Maslen and his 3 different series. I've read all of them. The first and foremost series was the character Gabriel Wolfe. In that series, Gabriel is re-united with his sister Tara, and she is a great character. This novel takes us back in time to her early years, and is a great lead-in to hopefully another great series. This novel shows the seamier side of young and many times abandoned girls. It details the rough life they have and especially when being raised in a country of communist leadership. This has a partial "happy ending", but if you've read the Gabriel Wolfe series, you know there have to be some more novels with Tara before she can get "caught up". Great job Andy.

quite the story
I enjoyed this one. Fairly fast read about a Chinese girl becoming an assassin. Quite violent but that is expected with the subject.

Excellent spin-off
This one didn't really grab me until about half way thorough, but when it did, it REALLY did! Andy does a great job filling in the backstory on his sister... who she is and what happened to turn her into such a killing machine. Upon reflection, I really think it didn't grab me at first because of other things going on at the time I started it. I think if I started it now it would have me hooked all the way.
