This is an excellent thermometer
I bought this for taking temperature of goats. I had one from petco but it took forever to give a reading and I didn’t trust it. This thermometer is fantastic- quick to get the temperature and accurate based on multiple readings! I highly recommend.

Dog Emergency Kit
This went into my dog emergency kit, so I hope I never have to use it. But it looks like good quality and it comes with a clear case and a few covers which is nice.

Perfect for Animals
This is easier to use than other thermometers I have purchased and very accurate. Love that it has a place to tie a string as well since we got this to use on our horses.

My favorite thermometer! Notes of experience...
It's fast, it's reliable, and it meets the standards of some three letter company. This is far and away my favorite thermometer I've used in my vet school career and I'm glad to have them by my side during fourth year rotations. Note: not resistant to fall damage (will crack open and fall apart, but still function when put together) and definitely /not/ water proof enough for a washing machine (will stay intact, but won't turn on)

Good to have with pets.
Having a pet thermometer is a must for dog owners. Having the ability to check for fever in God's gift to mankind is a must for dog lovers.

Work very well
Pleased with this thermometer, our dog hated it.

disappointed in accuracy, time to temperature and case
I really wanted this thermometer to work, as I liked the idea of having a thermometer with the option of having a string again, but it failed the most basic thermometer test. The thermometer consistently reads low compared to other thermometers I have on hand.It also often takes 30 seconds to read a temperature. Occasionally it will only take the 10 seconds as the description claimed. And sometimes instead of taking a temperature it just shuts itself off, which is very frustrating when actually taking the temperature of a less than cooperative patient. . There seems to be no obvious reason for the differences in behavior. I have tried changing batteries but it made no noticeable difference. Also the case that arrived is not the case in the photos. The case in the photos is 2 pieces that would completely enclose the thermometer. The case, that arrived, is a case that only covers about half of the thermometer and is obviously not designed to have a second piece. While I try to disinfect the rectal thermometers thoroughly after they are used, it is still strongly preferred that they have a case that encloses them completely when placing them near other medical supplies.
