Underrated hidden gem
Sonic R is a game bashed and joked about by many but it's mainly modern day plebs who listen to other reviewers and don't actually play the game themselves; Their overall opinion is biased and mainstream.Sonic R is actually great once you get the hang of it. YES, the game is very short but features a nice variety of characters and the stages, though only 5 in total, are very nicely designed. The music is fantastic! Where it fits with the game or not is debatable but it, in my opinion, works perfectly. It's the perfect mix for this 90s relic and even though the lyrics are cheesy, they stay in your head for years. The XPLOSIV version of Sonic R is a re-release. It actually contains the music on the disk this time around as the original release did not have the music. This version also features Net-Play via LAN TCP-IP servers and there are a few other configurations to use if you want. The controls are fully optimize-able, good SFX and Audio mixing options and even a weather system.Sonic R is a great game and the only issues players may have are the controls; They require some learning but aren't that bad and when you get your head out your butt and realize you can turn sharper with drift buttons, the controls become normal and easy.I absolutely recommend you play this game! The XPLOSIV release is really the only one you need at that. However, the game is also available on Gamecube via SonicGems Collection. Give it a shot.

⛔ Nicht kaufen! Nicht wie angegeben installierbar auf Windows XP. Auf dem Schaden bleibt man sitzen!
"SONIC R" Nicht kaufen!

Broken!
I don't have anything against Sonic R, by reading all the good reviews about it which were written in 2001, i decided to buy it, since it is super cheap on this website and i never played Sonic R before in my life, not to mention i have a capable PC to play it. What could possibly go wrong? The answer is: things did go wrong. After installing the game, all i got was this error saying."This program encountered a problem at address 004801d9 and cannot continue"So being the computer wiz which i am, i did what any other person would do to play an old windows XP game on a 64-bit Vista operating system, which was to run this game in compatibility mode for Windows XP. It didn't work, same error popped up, then i did it again, running the game in compatibility mode for windows 98 and it still didn't work what so ever.So to end this. Don't buy this game for the PC, it will not run on windows vista or windows 7. It will only run on the old operating systems like XP e.t.c.(it might be able to run on your PC, i don't know) and i am most definitely not going to waste hours upon hours of my time going though websites, just to get a fix for this one little game which i could of been playing right now.My advice to you, is to stay away from this version and buy just go buy Sonic Gems collection instead, on the GameCube or PlayStation 2 because not only does it come with SonicR, it also comes with two other games which you might not have: Sonic the fighters and Sonic CD.

I GOT THE WRONG PACKAGE... but the game i got was good :D
OK first things first, i ended up with the wrong package. I was expecting Sonic R but ended up with Sonic 3D Flickies Island. I know you might have just took the first thing that said xplosiv on it but please try to get the right thing next time. Naturally ill be ordering again for the right product but that doesnt mean im not happy with what i got. Sonic 3D has great graphics for its time, an electrifying soundtrack and fun gameplay. However im not so sure about the isometric view point or the slippy controls but when i can put that aside its a decent 90s sonic game. Good job sega. Also xplosive did an awesome job of porting this from the genesis/saturn to the PC. I would normally give this 4 stars but since i got the wrong order im deducting a star. But hey, i still got a game though :)

There is a version available to buy on STEAM but not sure if that is much better..
Not Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10 compatible without a bit of research on Internet. Yet another case of a game being Re-released on a budget title without proper playtesting on modern systems. There is a version available to buy on STEAM but not sure if that is much better.......
