I had a plastic spiralizer but it didn’t see the light of day very often because it was fiddly, cumbersome and difficult to clean. I found out about this one from the ’Greedy Gourmet’ blog. It is pared down to basics - quality stainless steel no extraneous ’bits’ or casing. There is an on/off lever which engages the forward spiralizing function and when off allows forward and back adjustment to the length of the veg/fruit. Finally, it is very easy to clean the gripping disc in situ, but it can be removed. I use a brush for the disc and blades. My first tryout was for onion bhajis which turned out brilliantly. Now I am on the lookout for as many spiralizing recipes as I can find.

Have only used the unit once to make zoodles from a zucchini. Instructions aren't great but relatively easy to figure out how to change the blade and attach the handle. Suction cups worked great on our counter top. Kept forgetting to adjust the 'on-off' switch to lock the rod but it worked either way. Biggest disappointment is in the unit design where the veggie strips come out. Cannot put a dish immediately under the veggies because of a metal ridge at the bottom - should have been flush. Otherwise like the unit and think the extra cost for stainless is worthwhile.

Das ist nicht mein erster Spiralschneider. Angefangen mit Lurchi, Handdrehgerät und Home Shopping ist dieses Gerät wirklich klasse. Der schneidet tatsächlich alles( Kohl,Zwiebeln, Möhren, Süsskartoffeln etc. und Obst). Ich habe mir diesmal gezielt einen aus Metall gesucht und zwei Modelle bestellt zum Vergleich. Dieser bleibt und ich bin mehr als zufrieden. Sogar die Messer können in die Spülmaschine . Ich finde es keine Fummelei die Klingen einzusetzen.

Incredibly happy with this product. I received it yesterday and I have already used it twice to make zucchini noodles and sweet potato curly fries.Nice and sturdy and the suction cups on the bottom work great to keep it nice and steady and the blades are very sharp, no elbow grease required when turning the handle. Switching the blades out takes only a second and you can clean it up in the dishwasher. I'm not sure if you are supposed to remove the handle when putting in dishwasher, but I did as the handle is wooden and it only takes a second.Highly recommend this product if you are looking for new and fun ways to eat your veggies.
