Works for the back speakers in a 2005 VW beetle convertible *that has the monsoon sound system upgrade. The front door speakers are 8 inch woofers, so if replacing, be sure to get the right sized for the front doors.. at least in the specific model and year. It is possible to bypass using either for the front or back speakers if your speakers are very shallow, though regardless I would definitely recommend getting them. If you are in process of replacing the stock stereo in a 2005 VW beetle convertible with monsoon system upgrade.. it is NOT as swap and done as one may think.., you'll need a canbus adapter in addition to the wiring harness adapter..(I purchased one here on amazon that was a wire harness with a canbus added to it already and it worked great! If you don't get the adapter, you will likely have to go to the factory amplifier and completely bypass it with a hack n splice job. Replacing the stock radio is possible, and there a few great options on Amazon ... I recommend sticking with ones specifically made for your model and year vw beetle....it can be a bit of a struggle, but you will be victorious in the end... May take a YouTube video or 2 and possible a crutchfield install info search... But you will win! )

Review is only because of fitment. (build quality looks fine). It is listed as "Fit VW Volkswagen Passat Golf/Jetta/Beetle 1999-2019" but it does NOT fit Beetle 2012 which it is shown to fit. It is at least 2" too small diameter.

The Screw Holes/Slots for mounting them to ( VW Passat and or Golf GTi ), factory speaker rivet or screw holes don't line up properly. What should have been a one hour install turned into a 2 day modifying nightmare. They fix that problem, and they will OWN OR, take over the speaker adapter mounts for European cars that use this mount...especially For VW!!!! This was supposed to have been a plug an Play. That being said...I would buy them again, but use my router to cut slots in the place the screws go for mounting to the car body. I would recommend them to anyone to buy as they are very, very well made and, really add no extra sound into the car. These mounts are Solid

Near perfect fit in my 2000 beetle. Also verified fitment on 2002 Jetta. Feels robust. The factory holes did not align with the holes on my speakers, luckily there plenty of material to run screws into. Only four stars because it would’ve been nice to include hardware to complete installation. Used self tapping screws to mount to door card and small wood screws to attach speaker.

These are about 1" deep, and 6.5" wide. They will fit perfect for adding 6.5" speakers to the front foors of a golf/gti. Included photo of the stock speaker vs this bracket and a 6.5" pioneer.

Works as intended, pretty cool I have a 2003 beetle, I bought Hertz 6.5 woofers for the doors. I liked them, but wanted more. So I bought Deaf Bonce Sylvesters, which have a non tapered basket and a huge magnet. The magnet fit in the adapter, but the basket didn't. I bought some universal metra adapters that work great. For the price and general universal functionality, they're awesome

Good fit, little thick and causes my door to have a very slight gap but no interference so no biggie, would have been nice to come with some mounting screws but it is what it is. They fit nicely otherwise right into my mk7 sportwagen
