4 stars – Through thick and thin they’ll be there for each other!
*sniffs*Want to know one of the reasons why I buy tissues in bulk?*waves book*It’s because of books like TWSG!That ending! Talk about emotion overload. I was a blubbering mess with all the happy tears. Now, TWSG is only my second ever Elaine Everest read, together with being my first foray into the Woolworths series. It took me a few chapters to get all the characters and relationships straight in my head. *whispers* I must confess I wanted to draw up a family tree for everyone. (What can I say? I’m a sucker for a character list/family tree/maps in a book *snorts*.)I loved getting a glimpse into a time when so many changes were afoot in the world, and once I had my Who’s Who down pat, I flew through the story.I was doing my own version of “Danger, Will Robinson!” as I became immersed in the story. One character in particular was determined to add to my grey hairs. I have it on good authority that I was heard mumbling threats to another character’s appendage at one point in the proceedings, but I have no recollection of such events. *pushes glasses up nose* It doesn’t sound like me at all, does it? *whistles*Nanny Ruby and Claudette were my two favourite characters. As this great cast of characters prove, family is more than blood and Ruby epitomises this as matriarch of her extended brood. Little Claudette is an old soul and wise beyond her fourteen years. I, for one, hope we get to hear more about her if/when the series continues.TWSG is what comfort reads are all about. Sometimes you just need to pick up a book where despite all the trials and tribulations you know it will come good in the end.Job done!

Brilliant
Thank you Elaine for another brilliant chapter in The Woolworths series. Loved this from the first page. Loved how Bessie, Claudette, Dorothy and Clemmie all stuck together during Bessie's pregnancy and not forgetting Clemmie's college friend Jane. Hope there will be more chapters as I love reading about Woolworths as I too worked in Woolworths when I first left school at the age of 15. Thank you again Elaine, looking forward to the next chapter.

Another brilliant Woolworths instalment
I love Elaine Everest and the Woolworths books in particular. This is another great story with characters I’ve grown to love. It’s now 1950 and the focus is in some of the younger characters from previous books. We still get plenty of time with the older characters which I liked, but the story of Bessie and how she deals with such difficult circumstances was a real page turner. The book has so much warmth to it, I flew through it. Highly recommend.

THE WOOLWORTHS SATURDAY GIRLS.
WELL DONE ELAINE EVEREST, ANOTHER TOP CLASS READ. HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THE RELEASE OF THIS BOOK AND HAVEN'T BEEN DISAPPOINTED. LOVED READING ABOUT THE YOUNGER MEMBERS OF THE WOOLWORTHS GIRLS FAMILIES, AND HOW LIKE THEIR MOTHERS THEY ALL STICK TOGETHER AND HELP EACH OTHER. STRONGLY RECCOMEND THIS BOOK, A GREAT READ. HOPE ANOTHER WILL SOON FOLLOW ON.

As with all other Elaine Everest books, this is the perfect read.
So lovely to escape into Elaine's world of Woollies again. It felt I was reuniting with friends & family again. The storylines captured me throughout &, as per usual, left me wanting more at the end. It was a nostalgic, exciting & heart warming read. Absolutely wonderful!
